Jaïa - Orchestra EP Review by Lage Feb 05, 2008
"Orchestra 2.0" is based on a fun concept - including symphonic instruments into a psytrance track. However, that's pretty much all it does. There are a few short pieces of melody on piano and violin which are repeated over and over, and in addition to that, they don't sound very much like real acoustic instruments. Removing these instruments would make it a rather basic track with nothing new to offer.

The flipside is the sole reason I bought this release, since I already had the album, which contains the A side track. In my opinion this remix is the best production from Minilogue / Son Kite since "Receive" (NAJA 021). Almost 11 minutes of building up from a modest drumline with distorted piano samples, through analogue buzzes, comprising the tell-tale Son Kite break a few minutes from the end, to finally exploding into a multi-layered ending and then slowly fading out.
