Omar-S - 006 Review by pipecock Apr 15, 2006 (edited over 3 years ago)
This is one of Omar-S' more abstract releases. "Polynesia" is a kickdrumless track with a slight acidic touch to go with some whistles. Very odd, but somehow slightly reminiscent of some of Jeff Mills' atmospheric work. "Churchill" is a minimal dirty jam that features some distorted kickdrum action followed by some pretty piano bits near the end. "Micronesia" and "Nikademas" are both twisted nasty jacking dancefloor jerkers, their only flaw being that they are so short. Finally, "Frontwardsflip" is another quirky deephouse affair in the vein of the second Oasis LP. This EP shows many sides of Omar-S' productions, and because of this it holds up as well for listening purposes as it does for dancing.
