2 Body's - 4 Dancetrax Review by audioteknica Oct 22, 2009
I must have a promo release of this title, Adamx points out that this version has a guy moaning on French Kiss making it the "Gay" version. My vinyl has a white label and the French Kiss track has only female vocals. It IS acid house as evidenced by the 808 "squelch" present in all the tracks. In addition these tracks are in other compilations labeled with an "acid house" moniker/category. All in all a nice release but still has dated and unintentionally funny lyrics. It would be great pitched up and remixed as Adamx points out.

The review on this record above is far off. For a person to say their is nothing gay about this record makes me wonder if he/she had listen to it straight through. First off the French Kiss version is extremley gay with it's breakdown from the original of a girl moaning being replaced by a guy moaning. I'm sure this is not what Lil Louis intended with his original version.
The absolute reason to own this record is for the song "Astoria" produced by New Beat legend "Ro Maron". This song for me defines the earliest of stages of the Brooklyn techno scene. The mood of this song emits total electronic darkness. Before I ever traveled to Europe this was a song that made me think of giant dark gothic churches and short winter days of central Europe. It's not acid as quoted in the reveiw above. Its a dark minimalistic track with a haunting bassline & tracky drums that would work perfectly in your favorite suspense horror film. What was an obscure track to most would be remixed several years later by German techno pioneer Thomas P Heckmann. As obscure to most as the orignal would be it's killer remix.
This song will always land a spot in my all time top 10. It is that good.

A nice taste of late eighties acid house tracks. All the tracks have that 808 squelch by which acid house music is known. Very catchy tracks, although sexuality and french kiss are rather over the top with their erotic vocal elements that seem unintentionally funny. These two tracks have female vocals that rise to an orgasmic crescendo towards the end. Atleast they made me laugh. Also I dont have the orignal sleeve, the cover picture for this release on the website says one of the tracks "gay version" but none of the vocals are male or nothing seems gay about it. There is no gay anything on the label itself Just over the top female vocals that sound as if they are reaching orgasm. This release also has Body drill which is composed by the same people who produced as Acid Drill, ro maron and f. balen. The Body Drill track is okay but after hearing Acid drill by the same people, it seems generic and under-produced like a "filler" track.
