Pimmon - Curse of Evil Clown - 20-Aug-06 04:51 AM
If you're a Pimmon fan, or have just a few of Mr. Gough's recent releases, "Curse Of Evil Clown" would be a worthy addition to your collection. However, it'll be worth your while to track down a copy since this is a very limited edtion 3" CD from the Australian based label Meupe. The first and second tracks are of the droneing type with minimal glitches, and the third track, "Zero Gravity", is a more playful type soundscape; as oppossed to the recent trends in dark and heavy drones from Black Boned Angel, or SunnO))), which are much more grimm and doom oriented in style. This is one Pimmon new release I would recommend to any electronic fan of today.

Ô Paradis - Destello De Estrellas En La Frente Bonus 3" - 16-Aug-06 10:25 AM
In contrast to the "Destello De Estrellas En La Frente" CD release, the 3" bonus CD that came with the limited version for this release is anything but a dark mini-album. L'Amettla Prados is the only track out of the four that could have been included with the CD DDEELF, for it's mellow, but not so dark in sound. The use of acoustic guitar strumms in En Mares De Sangre gives it a Spanish feel. Ulla, Tu Y Yo is the track that sounds like pop. Lastly the track Como Insectos Bajos El Sol, which loosely translates to "Like Low Insects To The Sun", is aptly entitled. This song finishes with you feeling like you just stepped out into the open-air during the day out in some tropical island.

Ô Paradis - Destello De Estrellas En La Frente - 16-Aug-06 10:01 AM
Whether or not you speak Spanish, don't let that keep you from giving this CD a listen. The sonorous type vocals sound heavily drenched from a little too much whiskey drinking. You can't help but get a dark vibe from this album. None of the tracks have a typical or signature type sound. And, it's not classifiable in just one simple genre; for the album incorporates a variety of styles and mixes it. For your dark and moody listening pleasure!
Black Boned Angel - Eternal Love - 12-Jul-06 02:08 PM
Not menancing or extremely caustic in sound, but to me, the ideas that came to my mind when giving this a listen actually seems to be referring to, well, I won't give that away for those who haven't heard this yet. There's deep bass detonations there, corrosive sounds with droning to evoke something rather sinister or ominous is about. Soundscape lasts for no more than 20 minutes. I couldn't figure what this was about until I finished listening to it. Comes in hand-made packaging with an enclosed folded picture insert for the cd-r, in an edition of 666 copies.
Black Boned Angel - Bliss And Void Inseparable - 21-Jun-06 01:27 PM
If your not already familiar with this release, but have heard of Birchville Cat Motel, well, this is Cambell Kneale's alter ego. An hour of harrowing metallic type dronescape mixed in with a high-pitch tone, a portion of the track having percussive beats, dark low evil type chants at one point, and a drone very much like Sunn O))). Packaged in a black on black thin cardboard gatefold sleeve, and worth checking out.
