Limbo Records - 06-Nov-07 04:21 PM
Limbo Records has established itself as a major player on the dance seen as it has grown through out the years. As the electronic evolution picked up from a whirlwind to a hurricane in the 90's Limbo Records was in the eye of the storm casting a weather report to those it was about to hit next!
With artists such as Havanna, Harri, Stuart Crichton and Yoshi all contributing to the labels huge success, Glasgow and Limbo Records were (and still are) consistently producing the goods!
Mr Billy Kiltie even knocked out a few decent tunes himself in his hay-day! Cheers Mukkaa!!!!
Havanna* - Schtoom - 04-Nov-07 12:46 PM
Early piece of work from the Havanna guys released on the Limbo label. It has nice tribal like rhythm and almost African like chants working along nicely with some extremely uplifting chords. This release set a benchmark for the acts which would follow it on this prolifically consistent label. The flip side has a more tech-house feel to it. A wee bit more dark but just as effective! Nice bongo patterns and more of those funky synths!
Various - Bonzai EP - 21-Jul-07 02:35 AM
The two rebirth tracks are what makes this release so damn good and so sought after. They both use one of the most haunting samples I've ever heard. It is in comparison with that used in A Homeboy, A Hippie & A Funki Dredd's "Total Confusion".
The difference is this track is dark through and through. If you were to include this in any hardcore set it would probably be thee "stand out track". It's a must have for the electronic music enthusiast of any genre!
Pryda - Ironman - 21-Jul-07 02:35 AM
Due for full release on 23-07-2007. This is going to be a MONSTER of a tune and is already causing a fuss on dancefloors/radio stations across the nation!
While working under his own name on more commercial tunes and tunes venturing towards techno under the "Cirez-D" name Eric Prydz disguises himself as "Pryda" for the this deep, progressive monster.
With all the elements of his work in the past... the simple flat but steady beats, the huge builds, killer drops and spine chilling chord changes and those funky basslines he has found a formula that some peolpe will never grow tired off!
If you like good music and even more so "extra special" house music then you need to have this!!!
Urban Cookie Collective - The Key : The Secret - 20-Jul-07 08:58 AM
One of THEE feel good factor tunes that was a high light of the 90's. With extremely uplifting vocals to match synth chords of the same description this tune could bring a smile to any ones face on a rainy day!
You can be forgiven for singing along to what might now might seem "cheesey" vocals but it was catchy then and it is NOW!
