Miguel Migs - Get Salted Volume 1 - 24-Jan-06 11:20 PM
Great compilation from Miguel Migs!
This CD has more of a bouncy, jazzy feel to it than some of Miguel Migs' previous Mix CDs on the Naked Music label. There is less of an emphasis on vocals this time, although many of the tracks contain little samples and cut-up vocals. The overall sound of 'Get Salted Volume 1' reminds me of Mark Farina's style, and it marks a departure from the vocal-laden San Francisco deep house that we have come to know and love from Naked Music.
Kaskade - It's You, It's Me - 14-Dec-05 05:46 AM
Deep, sexy San Francisco house music - this CD is perfect for relaxing in the sun by the pool or driving on a hot summer's day.
Highlights from this album include the sublime, groovy sounds of "What I Say (Soft Shuffle Mix)", the seminal sing-a-long "It's You It's Me" and my personal favourite, the wicked breakbeat/future jazz of "This Rhythm".
Not to be missed!
If there is one thing I would criticise about this album, it would be that there are a few too many vocal tracks. The instrumentals that Ryan Raddon produces are simply fantastic, and I feel that sometimes the tracks would be better if he just left the vocals out.
Jon Vesta - Gull / Bluestone - 09-Nov-05 03:39 AM
Jon Vesta - Gull is a track that was made famous during Paul Oakenfold's Essential Mix at Gatecrasher Lotherton Hall on 19/6/1999.
Pete Tong yelled those famous words "NICE ONE BRUVA! I SAID NICE ONE" during the epic breakdown of this track.
"Gull" could be considered to be a classic progressive trance track, and it is highly recommended.
Joof Recordings - 16-Oct-05 09:14 AM
J00F is one of the most consistent, unique trance labels around. While many other trance labels are going down the formulaic, profit-driven path, J00F continues to release original, quality trance today.
The releases on this label are deep, dark and moody - and this is what sets them apart. Now that the J00F label has gone digital, expect to see many great releases in the near future, including albums from Steve Birch, The Digital Blonde and Miika Kuisma.
John "00" Fleming has recently announced that the label will be focusing on digital releases from now on, with only limited white labels of new releases being pressed for the die-hard vinyl fanatics.
Definitely check out the full back catalogue for J00F because there are some brilliant tunes in there!
Killers, The - Mr. Brightside - 20-Sep-05 05:40 PM
Jacques Lu Conte's Thin White Duke Mix is simply outstanding. Beautiful strings, excellent structure and retention of the original's best elements all contribute to this gem of a tune.
I just love the subtle, beautiful melody in the breakdown of this track as well.
