Reviews & Discussion:
when I learned EL was back, I rushed to the record store after work and bought doubles, an oh man got home and put them on the decks, yes golden age electro is back! Futuristic as always, and funky as hell, a modern man's folk music? EL taps into the heart of electro with his sound, since the origins of egyptian empire back in the day of the early 80's, the melodies are with me, and never leave my crates!
A modern masterpiece, this record is brilliant, or should i say "Illuminated". Many influences brought together in a fresh new, and rockin' style. Squadro Blanco audio nods to yes masters like Simonetti and Carpenter in my view, while adding a whole new level being uniquely Squadro Blanco, I enjoy the lyrics and the overall concept and execution, hats off ! I am thankful for all the great work of the Viewlexx camp, inspiring and wonderful music for life.
A unique style of electro, born from the fusion of the sound styles of Dynamix 2 and Bass Junkie in my view, for most non enthusiasts of electro it might sound maybe bit "dj unfriendly", but I love the fact that this label plunges right into machine sound, focusing more on creating a sense of being in a robotic world than on following dance trends, gentlemen i salute thee for releasing fantastic records ,I play these all the time for my own and for the dance floor
when first listening to this record, i think most don't know how to react, should I be angry? sad? happy? well its good art ! l I like it precisely because its so bizzare and difficult to appreciate it. Laibach do a cover of the "Final Countdown ", Europe's 80's pop " wig rock" anthem for high schoolers, but surprisingly, somehow this song seems to fit Laibach perfectly with its sci fi lyrics and over the top drama. | ||||
I ve been an italo aficionado since the early 80's, but I didnt know this track until I heard I-F play it, and it blew me away, I tracked down a copy and every time i hear it it really shines, robotic but sensual, a true romantic space song.
Still seems to come from a future where " dance music" is not tied to any pre-sets, maybe I-F is from that future world too
