JohNick - Ibiza - 22-Jan-06 10:44 PM
Really great one by JohNick. This one is a bit different than the original release 'Brooklyn South' by Johnny D. & Nicky P. because 'Ibiza' contain three of the four songs but with different loops and/or lenght on the songs. You can hear the difference specially on Red Hook Groove. Isn't really a huge change but is fine to have both 12" and could choice between two different built-up of the same song.

A great bass-line combined with a good beat, sweet melody and fine sampled vocals, basic formula with the JohNick rhythm touch and you get Creation. Red Hook Groove is an amazing one that even up-pitched sound sometimes better, great disco-house jam. Finally, one of the greatest JohNick classic could be recognized since the begin. Suitness has his famous touch on the beat, and then that huge melody that makes this song perfect with the vocal saying 'Joh-Nick' around the cut.

Until the moment I recognize three songs sampled here. 'Barry White - Your Sweetness Is My Weakness' is used on Suitness, 'Lenny Williams - You Got Me Running' is used on Red Hook Groove and 'TW Funkmasters - I Got Money In My Pocket But No Love' on Creation. Brilliant Henry Street Music record.
