Paul Simon - Graceland Oct 02, 2006 (edited over 3 years ago)
The three bonus tracks are nothing to get excited about, not enough to justify dropping $20 on if you own the earlier cd version. However, if you don't own Graceland yet, I would suggest tracking this version down instead of settling for the older one. Graceland is one of the best pop ablums ever recorded. Absolutely beautiful.
Jackson & His Computer Band - Smash Apr 09, 2006 (edited over 3 years ago)
If you like Akufen's My Way you should check this album out, and vice versa. This is a pretty fun, upbeat album with more than enough knob twiddling wankery to make my day.
Fennesz - Venice Apr 01, 2006 (edited over 3 years ago)
If you like My Bloody Valentine, shoegazing, anything lush and thick you must buy this album. I won Fennesz's Plays, Hotel Parallel, Return of the Fennoberg and this one, which I picked up just the other day. Venice is prolly the best cd I've picked up since the Snare's HCCBU came out. It has the electronic equivalent to droning guitars playing over slight pops and bubbles of pleasant electronic goodness, like listening to sun light pouring down upon and streaming over the ocean as waves roll over dancing fish. Its great.
Caribou - The Milk Of Human Kindness Mar 30, 2006 (edited over 3 years ago)
This release is terribly bland. I'm a big fan of Up In Flames, and was hoping for something along that lines, but was disappointed with this boring, repetitive album. You'd have to have a completely shot attention span to get a kick out of this. For pot heads only I guess.
Ryoji Ikeda - dataplex Mar 30, 2006 (edited over 3 years ago)
The texture can be pretty neat at times, but for the most part this album is lacking in excitement and it gets old fast.
Fennesz - Plays Mar 30, 2006 (edited over 3 years ago)
Its almost impossible to recognize the samples used, but these two tracks will leave you wanting more. They are pretty short. No reason to pass this one up if you're a Fennesz fan and aren't hurting for money. its really short
Various - Putting The Morr Back In Morrissey Mar 30, 2006 (edited over 3 years ago)
One of the best electronic comps out there. Its got lots of great melody and some real nice electronic wankery going on too. Pop an oxycontin or something and kick back in the lazy boy with this playing and you'll be all set.
