Modeselektor - Boomkat Selected Mixtapes Volume 4
May 11, 2008
The norwegians do not believe it likely that Modeselektor would add so many "scratch"-sampels if the mix was indeed done digitally :)
As of the mix itself, it's very good both technically and musically. Spanning a lot of genres and constantly changing pace and mood, Modeselektor shows how its possible to mix gabber and NERD. If anyone have heard their Boogybytes vol. 3 mix, it isn't very similar stylisticly, but the philosophy is the same. Thumbs up. | ||||
It would be great if Apparat did more collaborations with mood-creating artists like Allien, because it fits his technical genious very well. He's an amazing sound engineer, and creates some of the more complex beat structures out there. This combined with Ellen Allien's sence of creating elevating, moody tunes should tempt anyone just slightly into electronic music. Some of these tunes are excellent club tracks as well, like for instance "Way out" which is a classic in its own right.
