Profile: My music interests are fairly wide, comprising both most electronica and rock. I usually have little patience for minimalistic or monotonous music, however. I believe melody will and should always be the heart of music!

I'm not selling anything in my collection, unless you're willing to pay ridiculously much (30++ euro for a 12"). I don't have time for trading either, unless you want to trade your 12"es for my CD singles. I am always interested in offers and info about things on my wantlist, though! If you send me mails violating these simple rules, I'll send your address to several horrible spamlists I know.

Dark Nebula - Robotic Tongue - 12-Jul-08 12:52 PM
Dark Nebula's best album to date, in my opinion (I haven't heard Sacred Scars though), and solely because of a single track: Structural Failure. Sampling AI voice recordings from Unreal 2 and bringing along a very fresh and innovative structure (pun not intended), it lights the dancefloor every time for me. Damn noisy track though (full spectrum due to the screaming lead and rolling bass) so be careful.

Some of the other tracks are also decent... While Bugz Me is a joke track as far as I can see, Toxic Reality is pretty fun and cheesy if you tolerate the guitar riffs. Sarjuk Khar (referencing the Sardaukar of the Dune stories) has some nice "desert" flute sounds.

All in all this is pretty decent full on, with a very noisy sound profile and lots of more or less mangled SF quotes; and one outstanding track.

HT UK - 12-Apr-07 11:47 PM
HTUK has been one of my favorite "secret weapon" labels for the entire time of its existence. Their silly-but-well-produced remakes of classic tracks at 140+ BPM have been well received, with HT 002 as a personal favorite. However, lately (since around HT 15) I feel the general quality of their releases has decreased sharply. Frankly, it's starting to sound a lot like run-of-the-mill mass-produced semi-hardtrace.

RMB - Spring - 12-Apr-07 06:10 AM
This release is, quite simply, some of the best music I've ever heard. "Spring" and "Whispering" are perfectly balanced on the bleeding edge between what was once called rave and what is now called trance. This release is indubitably RMB's masterpiece (which should say enough). The tracks are superbly produced and composed to evoke an almost mythic blend of uplifting ecstasy, totally mind-blanking physical energy and exactly the right hints of melancholy... Look up the phrase "Dancing with tears in my eyes" in a dictionary and you should find a picture of this single. 'Spring' is more on the side of trance, and has survived as a classic in the company of 'Age of Love' and Energy 52's 'Cafe del Mar'; 'Whispering' is on the rave side of things and is largely "forgotten". Still, both tracks are utterly timeless and masterful examples of 90's electronic music. I cannot rate this release high enough.

Amara - 20-Apr-06 11:07 AM
I haven't a foggiest who Amara is/are, the two releases on Proximo so far leave no clues... But that really doesn't matter much. Amara is a name of sheer quality. These two 12"es are some of the most powerful tools in my collection, simply bits of pure brilliance. The tracks have a timeless quality that makes them stand out over the daily mass of one-hit wonders. Straightforward, melodic, excellently produced and engaging hardtrance.

Richard Durand - Make Me Scream - 12-Mar-06 09:40 AM
Incredibly powerful mix of techno, electro and trance. A kick engineered to break bricks drives this monster ahead, accompanied by a powerful electro-ish bassline. Then suddenly - this awesomely delicate and beautiful breakdown turning into a soaring crescendo of synths... Then BAM, back to the wallbreaking techy business. Awesome production throughout! Tremendous crossover potential for this baby, highly recommended.
