Profile: Ok, a bit about my musical tastes.
I'm willing to give any genre a try, I will not blanketly dislike a genre.
I started clubbing in 1999 and I've been collecting records since 2000 and my collection is my pride & joy. My early experiences were of (deep) trance and Prog House in Northern UK, I guess the closest way of descibing my tastes was 'Global Underground'. My tastes really focused on the Prog House sound between 2000-2003 (when it started to get a touch pretentious and samey). From there I moved on to Breaks (specifically nu-skool breaks), which is where I am today (along with some tech-house), again my tastes are now more 'Fabriclive'.
What I would say though, is that all the records I have bought, I still like and still listen to.
My all-time Top 5.
1. Layo & Bushwacka - Love Story
2. Alanis Morrisette - Uninvited (Brothers in Rhythm Remix)
3. Laurent Garnier - The Man With The Red Face
4. Evil Nine - Crooked
5. Freeland - Heel & Toe (Evil Nine Mix)
I'm willing to listen to offers for my collection (tracks rated 1 are for exchange/sale, everything else I do want to keep - but if an offer is interesting enough...)

Electric Tease - Tear It Up - 30-May-06 12:38 PM
A cracking track that I first heard one of my DJ partners play during a mix we were having. I couldn't place the production but when asking about it later the best description I came up with was:
"Sounds like the bastard son of Underworld & Timo Maas!!!"
and it does! A Tech/Tech-House stormer that I love. However, I can imagine that the vocal could be considered a negative by some people. I think it fits personally, although it does have a Euro feel to it.
Laurent Garnier - The Man With The Red Face - 30-May-06 02:36 AM
One of my "Big 5" favourite dance tracks. Officially a Techno track, but a tune that has a great amount of cross-over potential, having seen the track in House/Prog/Techno/Tech-House sets. I'm torn between the Original & Jan Driver mixes over what is the better mix, I've been leaning towards the original recently.
As previously noted, LG apparantly didn't/doesn't like the Driver mix, but in truth both are very similar in structure. The Jan Driver mix is possibly a touch more dance-floor friendly, but could do with being a bit longer IMHO.
To see the best version of the track, you have to see him live where he will rework/remix the track live stretching the experience to close to quarter of an hour. I've seen him do this in the UK and on the terrace at Space in Ibiza which was special.
One confession. My TMWTRF vinyl is my most prized vinyl as I had it signed by the man himself. He was really good about it when I saw him in Bristol. Bit train-spottery I guess, but as this has been such an important tune for me in my clubbing, mixing, dance music time his "Merci, Much Respect" message means a lot.
Layo & Bushwacka! - Love Story (Promo Disc 1) - 30-May-06 02:35 AM
I first heard Love Story on a live BBC Radio 1 show around 1999/2000 time at that time is was simply known as "Untitled". Up until it was released, the test-pressing was one of the most sought after pieces of vinyl and I was chuffed to get hold of the double-pack promo.
The mixes of Love Story are solid, with cracking work-outs from Tim Deluxe (on a more housy vibe) & Bushwacka himself (taking it on a deeper, proggy tip) remixing on the original release. The subsequent Mash-Ups: Sun Story (Love Story vs. Planet Funk's Chase the Sun) and Finally vs. Love Story (which fared better in terms of sales and has to be respected as a good main-stream track, but was never really my thing) were both well-received by dance-floors.
But the best is still the original. A cracking tech-house track with oh-so-much cross over potential - the track has appeared in House, Prog, Tech-House, Breaks even Techno and Trance sets! It has the right amount of dreamy, sweeping noises with a pounding bassline and just the right amount of intriguing noises to keep the dancing masses interested.
Bottom line: This is the finest example of EDM, in my opinion, that has ever been written. As my tastes have changed and altered, this has always been 'one of' my favourites (both personally and in my sets) and it's the long-lasting nature of this track that sees me vote this as number 1!!!
Alanis Morissette - 25-Mar-05 09:42 PM
Alanis apparantly despises Electronic Dance Music and does not officially sanction remixes of her work. Despite this the remixes that have been produced by Hybrid, Brothers in Rhythm and the like are top quality. The BIR remix of Uninvited is a classic piece of emotive, powerful, driving Progressive House/Trance - in my opinion the single greatest dance record of all time!
Futureshock - Phantom Theory - 14-Mar-05 01:24 AM
Phantom Theory does not re-invent the wheel, it just show-cases what Futureshock are all about. Their tech-house sound has long been championed from DJ's ranging from the techno stable, to the house stable and I believe this shows how versatile their production is.
I would say that Phantom Theory is an honest album, Futureshock don't pretend to be something their not, which had become the trennd. When Sasha released Airdrawndagger (a breaks album), it was hardly what Sasha was all about and it received muted reviews as a result.
The only criticism I would levy at this album is that it did sound a touch dated and could have been done with being released 18 months earlier.
