Pete Rock & C.L. Smooth - Mecca And The Soul Brother - 01-Feb-07 12:37 PM
This is arguably one of the finest Hip Hop albums of the early 90s and still one of my all time favorites. Though I've never heard a Pete Rock song I didn't like, almost each of the 16 tracks on "Mecca And The Soul Brother" is simply oustanding. Songs like "Straighten it out", "Soul Brother #1" and "It's like that" have everything that I'm missing so desperately in most recent Rap acts: deep basslines, beefy old school beats, convincing lyrics and a lot of soul. That, and the fact that "They Reminisce Over You" is simply one of the best rap anthems ever, is why I'd highly recommend this album. If you don't have it, go get it!

Tim Dog - Penicillin On Wax - 12-Dec-06 11:00 AM
Sure, one can argue about Tim Dogs quality as a rapper (or lack thereof). Still there can be no doubt that "Penicillin On Wax" remains one of the true hardcore hip hop classics. Produced by probably the best Hop Hip producers of the early 90's, the Ultramagnetic MC's, this album contains some of the most energetic tracks you'll ever hear. It's loud, it's dope, it's hilarious and most important of all it's bangin'!

Cylob - Cylobian Sunset - 09-Jul-06 06:47 AM
A bit less experimental than most of his work, "Cylobian Sunset" is Chris Jeffs most beautiful album so far. A true must have in every IDM collection!
Tracks like "Bazfoul", "I Left My Heart In Syntax Error" and especially "Foid" are simply some of the most oustanding pieces of Electronica music ever. If you like simple downtempo beats and evocative soundscapes, this album is the real deal for you.
Just a superb Rephlex classic I can't stop listening to!

Global Goon - Family Glue - 07-Jul-06 07:37 AM
Eleven tracks of pure gold! Quirky melodies wonderfuly arraged with funky, summery beats make "Family Glue" easily one of the most accessible and addictive IDM releases ever. This record has a special place in my collection.

Future Sound Of London, The - Dead Cities - 07-Jul-06 02:31 AM
Along with Pentatoniks "Anthology", Aphex Twins "I care because you do" and BoCs "Twoism", this album has to be one of the most influential Electronica releases in my life.
Breakbeat, Ambient, D and much more, all merged together to a fantastic musical journey I'm glad I made. Pack your bags, this is Electronica at it's best!
