DJ Preach - Against Winter

I am a big fan of this record that I bought the other week. Surprisingly, the Marco Bailey remix falls behind both the original and the Filterheadz remiix. Marco Bailey does it harder with his searing drums and bass, but it does not work as well with this track, and the Filterheadz remix has a certain X-Factor that just makes some tribal tracks give you a fuzzy feeling in your stomach. Not the hardest techno, but probably my fave' MB-Elektronics track after Challenger!
Jel Ford - But Wait ... There's More
Dec 19, 2003
After having seen Jel Ford DJ a number of times at Intergalactic Funk, I was keen to buy some of his stuff. This was the first that I finaly bought and I have come to the conclusion that Jel Ford plays a lot harder than he produces . Not that its a bad record, its good, but sometimes you feel its just been lifted straight out of a Stanny Fransen LP. A bit disappointing after having heard the searing grooves from that dark, dank techno cave!
Ben Sims - Oblivion / City Life (Remixes)

This is the best set of remixes available on the hard techno market! Tobias Van Hofsten being the pick of the bunch, with one of those records you here every so often that takes all the best elements that make other records work, fuses them together, and makes them work together. It just fits. Other highlights are Mark Williams tribal reworking of Oblivion and Marco Bailey take on City Life. This is one those remix packages that stickswith you indefinatly.
Alexander Kowalski - Belo Horizonte

Three very different, but equally blinding tracks here. Title track is the lighter, but still hip swingin' banger. Lightning field is built around the awesome build halfway through (got to be heard to be believed), and Dynamite Sun is the strict, rhythmic absolute f##kin' rocker. I have the white pressed vinyl that looks the part. (anyone else think the centre-sticker looks like an Orbit flyer?) | ||||
