Arkanoydz - Type One - 29-Jan-08 12:36 PM
Not exactly review from my side, just an opinion: Ive listened to this for couple of times and each time im un-impressed, it sounds like some plastic garbage to my ears, not like psychedelic trance, which it is intended to be, the same boring bass lines, the same "el cheapo" boring sounds from cartoons, just like in recent etnica-pleiadians productions, must be Italian thing, those sounds. Only track that really stood out to me is The Train Song, and even that one manages to be monotone at times. I wonder why the heck did they invite Mr. Rizzo to join this project, i cant hear "good parts" one should expect from one of those, who defined Etnicas work the way we knew it (musically, after Patterno i guess, at least so people say), shining through pale "psy" that often :/. I can see some people enjoying this, and i can imagine i could have too, if not for those terrible "toy" sounds and *yawn* bass lines used in this album. Dont get me wrong, there is some so called "modern" psy-dance music that i enjoy, i dont expect someone to do Alien Protein II, but little more effort i did expect however. Not that i know anything... Failure, to put it harsh.
X.Dream* - We Interface - 02-Mar-06 04:06 AM
well, nothing much to say about this, in my opinion allthough they experiment with various sounds this album in my opinion is a painfull downfall after succes and confident sound of "Radio", in "We interface" i can hear only recycled, aged in fact, ideas of commercial club dance music, attempt to create something more mainstream and profitable perhaps? this sounds like some uninspired attemp to copy whats popular in mainstream, im not saying that its bad to do so, but in my present opinion this album doesnt stand out from the crowd - not psy nor club dance. and why would someone label this music as psy-trance?
Pleiadians - Family Of Light - 27-Jan-06 04:25 AM
There are two reasons why this album should be in every psy freaks collection - one is "Modulation" and the other one is..."Meter"! Unfortunately these are the only ones that really stand out together, well maybe there is one more track that seems pretty good - "Moon In Your Window" which starts pretty the same as other tracks yet in the last two minutes of track it manages to attract your attention, things start to move and some nice and twisted melodies kick in during break, but thats it. Theres nothing else to expect from this album, no surprises, no "mind fukcery", other tracks are pretty pale and melodies sound too artificial, something is missing, this is not "IFO" and only tracks like "Modulation" and "Meter" are on the same level as "IFO", or should i say "Pleiadians level"? Its pretty boring and uninspiring. If you liked "IFO" you might feel dissapointed by overall sound of this one.
Pleiadians - Headspin / Universe 13 - 27-Jan-06 04:24 AM
Headspin sounds somehow monotone and dry, the intro is pretty simple and not too twisted, overall feeling about Headspin is that this track lacks something, there isnt that full and balanced sound as in IFO, mind asks for more, but this track cant give you much. Universe 13 - this track is not a classic at all, it sounds pretty mainstream, remember Love Parade and tracks by Westbam and Motte? Well this is what you get here - fusion of some psy elements together with pretty simple style of commercial techno of that time. Allthough it sounds pretty good and even funky, this is not what you would expect from Pleiadians. Overall not bad release by Pleiadians, but nothing groundbraking either, pretty good for dancing - can have lot of fun (Universe 13) but thats all, too boring to be labeled as "Music for mind and body".
