Too many options don't work properly, every minute I spend here feels more and more like a wasted one, so please don't expect me to contribute anymore...! (any further contribution should be considered accidental ;-)

Rage Against The Machine - Rage Against The Machine - 21-Dec-06 01:52 PM
Very strong debut album by RATM.
It must have been '93 or '94 when I first heard someone play a tape with Rage Against The Machine: I was instantly hooked on the fresh aggressive melodic sounds. Let me tell you: this was a time my ears were most accustomed to the Euro House/Dance music of that period, like "2 Unlimited" or "The Prodigy", and in Rock I had hardly heard anything beyond "Nirvana's Nevermind"; it's easy to understand RATM was an entirely new experience to me. This album felt like some kind of revelation; the idea that not using any "Samples, Keyboards or Synthesizers" was something to be proud of, had never crossed my mind before.
It's hard to pick my favourite tracks on this album, or least favourite: no track has managed to bore me after 10+ years. Where "Killing In The Name" may be the best-known track of the album, this is not necessarily the track to define the album. The raw energy, the strong vocals/lyrics and the amazing guitar-music that make this album are (at least) equally well represented in the tracks "Freedom", "Wake Up", "Know Your Enemy", "Bombtrack"... to name a few.
Vincent De Moor - Mystique Colors - 04-Jul-06 07:07 AM
"Mystique Colors" has been around for a few months now; the first time I heard it it grabbed me, and it has not let me go since: I know this track will be in my "top 5" in the Trance genre of this year. Why? The sun is shining, everything seems to go your way... that music playing in your head? It's "Mystique Colors"! An uplifting, laid back, beautiful track. The higher & lower frequencies seem to be in perfect balance... Vincent created an evergreen, imo.
"Cressidia" is a bit faster, a bit more energetic, but that's it: it lacks the harmony, the beauty, the positive feelings of "Mystique Colors". The build-up is promising, but it never seems to meet the expectations. It's a build-up to a next track.
4 Strings - Desire - 22-Jan-06 02:16 PM
Desire has a nice addictive melody. The "Original Mix" however, is hardly more than that: it needs more. Perhaps some vocals could do the trick, but as an instrumental track it doesn't live up to other 4 Strings tracks. The "DJ 4 Strings Mix" is more dynamic, and a bit harder: great!
Gabriel & Dresden - 22-Jan-06 02:13 PM
If Gabriel & Dresden touch a song, it turns into gold. Or better: they see the brilliant diamond in the rough gem. It's not surprising they get to collaborate with just about anybody they’d like. Whether it's one of their own productions or a remix, with every new release it's just amazing to hear what they've done this time! I'd say Gabriel & Dresden have raised the bar for (progressive) trance producers all over the world, and I hope they will maintain their position in being one of the greatest inspirations.
Ernesto vs Bastian* - Dark Side Of The Moon - 02-Jun-05 03:18 PM
The Original has a melody that wants to tear you open, a pumpin' rhythm and to top it all: beautiful vocals... Dogzilla's Pure Filth is a bit slower & darker, restless track; this is the buildup as the Original is the climax
I love this record!
