Heiko Laux - Waves - 05-Jan-07 05:33 AM
For me this is not so much of an album, than a selection of dj tools. Apart from Rachmads remix of Shared Wave, which is a real floor burner, there are no real stand out tracks on offer here. Heikos production quality shines through though and with a bit of creative mixing these tracks can be useful in a dj set. Not a dissappointment for me as im not too familiar with much of Heikos other stuff and a real bargain to boot!
Alex Smoke - Simple Things EP - 13-Oct-06 02:34 PM
Well, if your gonna put out a debut release in todays saturated market, youd better make sure its a good one and thats exactly what Vakant have supplied here. My personal favourite by Alex Smoke, Sortie, is the kind of thing id like to hear more of, a dark, melodic, dancefloor builder with an uncharacteristic disco bassline.....genius. Simple Things carries on the theme of darkness, whilst Pingu and Strange Atrractor are more typical jackin minimal tracks. A treasured first release.
André Kraml Feat. Shad Privat* - Safari - 12-Oct-06 07:28 AM
Erm, anyone up for a wildlife breakdown? Well thats what Andre Kraml has delivered here, in the middle of a fairly cheeky original version. Whilst Alex Smoke does his thing with a pretty useful remix, its Holden that really turns this in to an unexpected dancefloor banger. Twisted! Best Crosstown release to date.
