Profile: What's to say? I'm a trance DJ who's woefully in need of booking. I'm also a serious martial artist and a fan of all varieties of music.
Due to a recent change in policy in the US postal system, I am effectively unable to buy records overseas (I work during delivery hours and international orders now require a signature). Please do not make me any record offers unless you are in the United States. Thank you.

Moonshine Music - 16-Oct-05 04:19 PM
I remember back in 1997 that this was THE label. I saw an ad on TV for Keokis new (at the time) album and nearly pissed myself. It was very shortly thereafter that I got the sense they were going in a very stupid direction. For me, the beginning of the end was That Trance Mix, which was so painfully generic and bland I couldnt give it away fast enough. And Im a trance DJ. That should tell you something. They later followed up with Luv 2 Trance and Trance Classics. It was like watching someone photoshop a great work of art and add nothing but cheesy effects. They released some wonderful tracks in their time, but in their latter years they fell into the awful slump we call "mainstream". Not they Moonshine was ever the saviour of the underground, but they lost all their clout when they started releases Ferry Corstens stuff. And again, Im a trance DJ. That should tell you something. They will be sorely missed.
Daft Punk - Homework - 06-Aug-05 12:58 AM
This album was my gateway drug to electronic music, and for that, it will always have a special place in my heart. That said, most of the tracks on here still appeal to me even though my musical tastes change with time. Many of the tracks are not quite as mainstream friendly as the big singles, but I find myself liking those too, especially Rollin & Scratchin and Indo Silver Club. While I wasnt as impressed with Discovery (though I did like Interstella 5555 a lot), this album is just a classic to me, and I love it through and through.
Krunchie - I'm So Excited - 20-Jul-05 02:21 PM
The B side is straight up Euro cheese, but the A side is worth a listen. Its definitely trance, but with some housey influence. I accidentally left this one in my "buy these records" stack in a frantic 10 minute sale, and after listening to the A side again, I have to say its not really all that bad. The B side isnt anything special though, reminds me WAY too much of La Bouche, Le Click, Real McCoy, etc...
DJ N-Exus - The Quest - 17-May-05 10:42 AM
My preference on this release goes toward the universe remix. The club mix is hard as hell and probably the only track that ought to use the vocal sample, and the elektron mix is, as you probably guessed, more in the electroclash vein. The universe remix has a SLIGHTLY old school (and by old school I mean 1997-ish) sound and discards the vocal entirely. If youre wondering, the vocal (which appears by itself on the acapella) goes "Listen, what you are about to face is vastly more imporant than your ego, your enemy, or your quest for revenge. Only one thing can defeat you, your own fear" and comes (but is not sampled from) the movie Mortal Kombat.
JamX + De Leon* - Blue Monday - 19-Apr-05 02:49 PM
Well its not TERRIBLY unique. Both mixes feel like theyre just the original song with production to make it fit better in a modern club setting. That said, the new production does nothing to kill the brilliance of the original, and the decision to start the breakdown at the lyrics "Now I stand here waiting..." was definitely a good one. Its a good track, but its not exactly a whole new spin.
