Reviews & Discussion:
Personally I am not into their whole stuff, but the track "decay" is among my all-time top 10 of electro/wave/independent list. Mid-tempo and a voice with a high recognition. The synthesizer back-grounds create a very cool and mellow atmosphere. I played this tune 1000 times together with John Foxx'/Underpass and Gary Numan/Are friends electric. For friends of the typical 80's synthie-wave-sound.
Classic instrumental and atmospheric underground tune of the 80's - anything between wave, EBM and dancefloor. Could imagine to still play it today. Tune is based on a minimal synthie theme which hardly changes throughout the time. After listening various times you realize little, but distinct changes which provide the intense atmosphere of the track. No problem to let it run the entire 7 minutes - the crowd still dances its ass off.
I consider Hunting Lodge as a one hit wonder. Nevertheless tribal Warning Shot has been a massive underground hit in the 80's. Dominated by the tribal-like percussions and the nice typically gothic female voice the tune continuously develops. The climax is a two minute percussion-solo fading out to the central theme of the tune. Down-tempo speed perfect for the 80's dance-style of the wave & gothic crowd. For friends of Shock therapy, Clan of Xymox & Co.

Best Global Underground release in my opinion. Furthermore the best Oakie mix so far. In comparison to most of his common stuff, where he keeps up the BPI, this focuses on mid-tempo tunes full of atmosphere. Paul combines brilliantly different styles, such as Deep House ("Jamie Myers - Rescue me"), Trance ("Greece 2000") and Breakbeats. My fav tune is "Summersault" by Taste Experience, a typical Ibiza-style chiller. | ||||
