Shades Of Rhythm - Happy Feelings E.P. - 02-Sep-06 04:41 AM
For sure one of the most special oldschool breakbeat tunes ever "released". From what I know the song 'Happy Feelings' could not be released due to unauthorized usage of some vocal-sample they after did not get clearance (license) for...too bad! Actually it took me 13 years to get a copy of that vinyl and I honestly can say: I don't regret spending that much time on that task. Especially the A-side makes that song an alltime classic for me: really marvelous piano line followed by some extra-ordinary (808-based) breakbeat, a soft bouncing bassline, not in the usual style of those early years, amazing MC lines in a somehow "pop" styled way, female vocals that go deep under your skin (the mentioned vocal-sample) and an arrangement that never lacks a red line. Most definitely a must-have for every oldschool vinyl collector!
Ramin* - Vol. II - 14-Nov-05 10:35 AM
Brainticket was definitely the ticket to new regions of your brain. Remembering very well the night at the famous 'Dorian Gray' club in Frankfurt/Main (Germany) when I heard it for the first time (1992). This record has so much atmosphere like only a handful others from these times. It was (no doubt!) definitely one of the milestones of hardhouse and trance music and I was lucky enough to buy the record from some mailorder list in those times. If you like atmospheric trance music it's a must-have - the intro will give you already a decent goosebumps shower :)
Orange Sky - Aeronautics EP - 19-Jun-05 05:35 AM
I still remember the night when Michael played this one live at TOXXICC club (Nürnberg, Germany) and all people were yelling. Track A1 is such a nice melodic, deep trance tune which comes in with a soft bassdrum where one would expect the hammering 909. B1 is also very amazing for its heart-like sequence that takes you on a journey into sound. Definitely worth getting it - if I wouldn't have it I'd pay a lot of bucks to get it :)
