Claude VonStroke - Who's Afraid Of Detroit? [Deepchord & Soultek Mixes] - 27-Oct-07 01:42 PM
DeepChord goes straight to the very essence of original track - the melody. Ir drowns it in sea of echoes and dub sounding as quality as possible. Deepchord could be solid example of quality. Not to say, Rod Modell knows how to keep that great feeling after hearing first CHORDSs in the original. Even so they have been hidden quite DEEP. Soultek's mix is realy running somewhere: it changes constantly. And the final result is quite different, mixing both tracks together deefinitely wouldn't get along. Of course, if you din't want to end Dub Techno journey.
A very creative transfer of dancefloor smasher to deeper lands.
Fat Freddy's Drop - Hope - 27-Oct-07 01:24 PM
A truly epic piece of music art on A side. It combines very rarely used together styles Jazz and Reggae with modern Electronic. Chiiled and lively Dallas Tamaira's vocals completes the perfect song formula. Be sure not to miss amazing saxo improvisation in the other half of track, proving Jazz is not dead! Bluey is more dubbed and echoed side of Fat Freddy's Drop creativity. It's a good track, but simply pales against Hope.
No questions why this vinyl got a reissue.
Villalobos* - Fizheuer Zieheuer - 27-Oct-07 12:59 PM
It's not only a djtool. It's also a great background track! You can be at home and do whatever you want and still have those nice blowing beats. It was fun playing this track for about 3 hours one day. TV was on and off, friend even played NFSU2 and i still could listen to this track in background. It's catchiness is just a bit deeper. It greatly works outside with mp3 player - doesn't distract your attention while still giving you straight minimal and unexpected variations of live instrument sounds. It's more. It's listeningtool.
Harald Björk - Brus - 23-Apr-07 03:14 AM
A very vivid, not overcrowded and less minimal influenced (than everything nowadays) release. "Brus" starts in a very slow way letting listener to feel the melody and holds same feeling throughtout the whole track. Sounds even a bit repetative but soft synths and beautiful bassline easily shows how excelent this track is produced. No way you will be bored of or skip it. Flipside is even more 'sunny '. Minimal cuts and nicely executed soundscapes following every beat leaves a big smile in your face wheerever you are. I guess the more sunny day you listen to this vinyl the more it will grow about you.. ;)
Dapayk Solo - Impulsion Parasite - 02-Dec-06 08:19 AM
Growling and menacing, this record has some realy creapy feeling. A side with it's sampled tech electro line and dubbed breakbeats is definitly ruler here. "Hollis" is incorporating hounted vocals, that greatly blend alongside whole track and keep release mood. Solid attack of hidden anger in this 12".
