DPG* Presents DJ 2High - West Coast Gangsta Sh*t Vol. 3 - 02-Dec-08 12:27 PM
Unbelievable DJ-Mix of unreleased Tracks by Tha Dogg Pound and their affiliates!
Every Track is a definitive banger, NO SHIT! If you like new and good West Coast Gangsta Rap you will be fully satisfied with this one!
This CD is released under DPG Japan Records. Many Japan-only CDs of tha Dogg Pound are existing, but were released under "DPG Recordz", I think in the future "DPG Japan" will release more of that good ass G-Shit!

"They Don't Want It" and "That Go" are totally sick and off tha hook!

Big Hutch aka Cold 187um - 2 Killas - 23-Oct-08 11:42 AM
The only single to Big Hutch's first solo album "Executive Decisions". The main-track "2 Killas" comes up with a real tight sample and a exceptionally good part of Xzibit and the hook by KMG. The Remix shows once a again Hutch's style of trying new things, because the beat has a nice punch-line mixed up with some sounds of a Super Nintendo, fresh! The Remix is available on this 12" and on the rare Japan-Import of Above The Law's "Forever: Rich Thugs, Book One" as a Bonus-Track.

Just more interesting is "Boombonic Plague" ("Bubonic Plague" on the Album-Trackindex), the only track on the album with a own music video. The beat's tight mixed up with the some faster pitched synthes of Kokane's "Funk From The Back" (prod. by himself back in '94), the hook is a little bit uncreative, but it's a definitve banger!
The Remix of "Boombonic Plague" is exclusive and only on this rare 12" available. The text's just a little bit different, the beat is raw - Hutch made it sound classic Hip-Hop!

If you like (or love) Above The Law or Cold 187um aka Big Hutch's production style you'll be happy with this one! But I don't recommend this one to people who are new with Above The Law.

Gentry* & Mr. Kane - Gangstarock - 29-Sep-08 11:26 AM
Chris Gentry is a Professional Skateboarder and Kokane (aka Mr. Kane) a West Coast Rap Legend for his unique Style of rapping and singing hooks came together for this project.
The album is a very awesome mix of laid back guitars, Kokane's funky singing and Chris Gentry's rapping about Skateboarding combined with some Gangsta Shit! There's also a nice featuring with Pro-Skater Chad Muska (which also released a very good (Rap-)Album named "Muskabeats"! Further better known guests are RBX, Pimpin' Young of the Pomona City Rydaz and Mr. Short Khop.

If you like Kokane's funky style and if you're a fan of Skate-music or in search of fresh Cross-over > this one's for you!
The best tracks are:
Vert
Bar Hoppin'
Bang Your Head

Above The Law - Sex, Money & Music / Ghetto Platinum - 10-Sep-08 12:49 PM
The A-Side is a very thight West Coast/Low Rider Banger with a bomb-ass hook!
The B-Side is a much harder and darker track, which is also featured on Cold 187um aka Big Hutch's solo "Live From The Ghetto".
This 12" is one of the singles to Above The Law's unreleased album "Sex, Money & Music", planned for 2002. But the album never released, but Big Hutch took the Track "Ghetto Platinum" two years later on this 2nd solo album.

Boggs, The - Forts - 18-Jan-08 10:50 AM
After I heard the song "Arm In Arm (Shy Child Remix)" in the 2. Grand Theft Auto IV Trailer, I had to get the original version - so I had to buy this CD. Good style-mix between Acoustic, Indie Rock, a little bit Punk, Neo-Folk and dirty Garage Rock.
If you like the style form The Rapture you will also enjoy this CD.
It's the third studio ablum from The Boggs.

It is what it is - a good piece of New York (Underground) Garage Rock.
