Stephanie Cooke - Rain (Let It All Come Down) (Part 2) - 19-Apr-05 02:49 PM
DF's Rainforest Dub is the cut for me on this release. Beautiful keys by Dennis, and a trumpet rendition that challanges any other in my opinion. It's a Summer vibe even though it's about rain..
Drivetrain - 2nd Symponium - 31-Jul-04 03:50 AM
It's fairly rare that the title track is completely overshadowed by the additional track on a record, but that is without question the case here. "Get Up" really is a jackin' Chicago belter, and I'm giving this a 5 just for that tune. Would love to hear it in a club, it would make you do as the title says.
Moves, The - If You Leave Now Part 2 - 30-Jul-04 11:20 AM
The Alix Alvarez instrumental is an ace track, definitely one of my favourites of 2004 so far. Alix keeps it relatively simple, with a nice shuffled beat and keys. The Straight Mix has nice warm bassline, but the lack of vocals leave it slightly dull.
Blakkat - Fear Of Blakkat - 14-Jan-04 07:58 AM
This LP has really grown on me over the last while. It came out in '98, and I had it for a few years sitting at the back of my collection gathering dust, before I started listening to it properly. I was pleasantly surprised - Blackwida, Get Out From Under, and Soul Fragments are all solid tracks. But the real standout cut is Left Headed People - the type of tune that would make your head explode in a club.
Various - First Flight EP - 08-Oct-03 04:56 AM
This is a release from an Irish label, Elevation. The David Duriez track is deep and kicking, the Aruba track is mellow and cheerful, but the others don't add anything to this EP.
