Mood Deluxe - The Tangent Universe - 15-Nov-06 07:44 PM
I was quite surprised by this release when I first heard it... where did it come from? I have'nt heard of Mood Deluxe before, I saw it by accident when I was buying the Slackbaba album released from the same label...
So with no expectations I put this in my cd-player....and what a pleasant experience! Not that all the music can be classified as pleasant (as soft as bunny) but as and musical surprise, some tracks are soft'ich but most tracks have a rough edge! I wound'nt classify this as psy-downtempo though it to fast imo, maybe Closer (track 3) but its still fast though, the album blends in between psy-break/psy-dnb and psy-trance.... This is a real cocktail and if you are not in for that.... thats too bad for u! For me this is a fresh of breath air into psymusic, there is not many artists producing psychedelic breaks/dnb so I welcome Mood Deluxe!
The album starts out relatively slow a lot off deep beats and weird voices, Closer (track 3) is really beautiful! Around track 4-5 it starts to pick up more tempo, a lot of power and dnb elements, now it starts to be fun! I really like The Tangent Universe (track 6) the beat its kinda oddbeat and a lot of crispy sounds and a dnb'sh bassline, a lot of fun!!! Next Zeitgeist (Naked Weapon mix)(track 7) is more psy-trance'ich, nice but not as fun as the previous track. Track 8-10 is a real blend of both breakbeat and psytrance, very interesting! The finishing track Amber is like a finishing track normally is more slow and landing the album again after the journey, a very nice nice and dreamy track though still quite a fast tempo, really good closing track!
So all in all I recommend this to anyone who would like to listen to something different, off course you would have to like the break/dnb sound, and if dont know if u like this check it out anyways. I really like this abum, what a debute!!! And a very high level of prodution skills for sure very well done!!!
Fav's: 3, 6!!, 8!, 9!!!, 10!

Crazy forest music for the people!!!
I really see this as the best VA-release of 2004. fresh and foresty. Have to say Tamlin - Fjaqek is my favorite track here, damn it makes me happy :) The opening track "Pimperknucle - Size 8" is real bouncy, and of course Derango delivers a bomb! But really a bunch of real nice tracks on this release! Can also feel a hefty influence of Suomi-style here, no doubt! Just real trippy shit!
Nystagmus - The Immaculate Perception - 22-May-06 08:45 AM
This is a real treat! Just classical piece of music! The artwork fits really well with the music, u can feel the midevil vibes all the way through! It weird that this is not "more known" album than it is?! Because its such a great release, with a much more inovative sounds than most artist can come out with. This is Definitly one of the best releases in 2005!
Some people says it sounds like "IM - Classical Mushroom" I dont think so, it's just very epic music aswell thats the thing that they have in common! Thats just because its picturés, story telling music does not mean its the same... Talpa has some of the same qualities but its not the same music, it has similarities to each other but it is not the same thats for sure! Classical Mushroom was writing history when it was releast back in 2000 and Nystagmus - The Immaculate Perception is doing the same now.

Danny Makov - Anything U Want - 22-May-06 07:02 AM
BLT has impressed me for many years now, I can remember when I first heard their album "Presence" back in 2000, just smooth sailing from there!!! So this colab with Danny Makov seems to be a succes with "Anything U Want".
Patterns Of... Is just pure bliss... it just takes me places: "Mathematics is the language of nature"! :)
Procs - Stuck In The Oven With Me - 21-May-06 10:06 AM
Did'nt expect to hear what I heared when I played this album (comming from Trishula)... It's weird and psychedelic but not hard and pounding... so good to be suprised by something different, personly thats why I like psytrance... Well off course not all psytrance are very inovative (to say the least) but still when artist stray away from their normal paterns of making music I see no where with better potential to make incredibel and unforseen stuff then with psychedelic music... In the end only the imagination is the limit...
Well I guess I really like to be suprised by the music I listen to, thats why I like this album!
There might be some people who had other expections from listings to compilation releases and they might be dissapointed. But for me its just juices from the underground, so deep and yet groovy! All the weird melodies makes u feel like u r walking through the dark mistful forest hearing the elfs playing their music from within the trees, hmm at least thats how I feel :) But this is a special release of a kind that is rarely seen!
