Ion Ludwig - Circle Of Dorth - 04-Dec-07 06:16 PM
This EP is more than just a club thing, it is a guide to the unconventional minimal techno music. Simeon Simon is a piece of art. A storytelling and progressive construction with a misterious piano slightly growing. One of my favourite track of 2006. My second favourite is Pornslices. I love the bionik samples and beat construction, threatening and banging. Puzzle Pieces and Infalling Fool are cool uncommon minimal tracks. Great and precise work. My favourite Stock5!
Jesse Somfay - 24-Oct-07 01:29 PM
Jesse Somfay really gots his Unique style. Linking minimal techno with etheral ambiances, and more progressive and acid sounds. Each track is a piece of art, even when you read the titles... Call it what you want, I call it post-techno. Such as Ion Ludwig, his productions remind a "fairytales" ambiance, but in a different way of producing. A collaboration would be magical for sure! You can easily listen to it with your MP3 player and dreaming through imaginary lands... or shaking the head on the floor. Another young soldier for the future of techno!
DJ Mark Farina* - San Francisco Sessions Vol. 1 - 16-Aug-07 02:14 PM
I just wanted to pay a tribute to what I consider like the best deep funky house mix ever created. It is thanks to San Francisco Sessions that I discovered House music and fell in love with it. It is deep, funky, classy, Mark Farina has never been better. The track selection could not be better. Every track is mind-blowing and fit very well together. Most of my fav are in this mix! Made in 1999, it was the period when Mark's wizardry was shinning. Indeed, his voice samples/ ambiances like the sound of the sea, of birds, make the mix unique.
You must get this mix if you are a deep house fan. I really think that house will never be better than this...
Various - Seasons - One - 23-Jul-07 04:30 PM
I'm a big fan of Mark Farina, but this mix does not appeal me. I don't know why it's so rare and so appreciated. The mixing is okay, is common...and I find the tracklist boring. Compare it to San Francisco Sessions. 3 years later, it's reaaaallly better.
DJ Mark Farina* - Mushroom Jazz 3 - 03-Jul-07 03:46 AM
Mushroom Jazz 3 is very good, but not as good as MJ2 and 4 which are real masterpieces. In contrary to volume 5, the soul of Mushroom Jazz is there, with this particular "classy urban ambiance". Excellent track selection as always, but there's a track which does not flow with others in my opinion : Herb Alpert - Flirtation. It's raw jazz, it's not "filtered" and "minimalist" like the other jazzy tracks used in Mushroom Jazz (just remember Pepe Bradock - Un Pepe Dans La Dentelle, in Mushroom Jazz 2, or Fat Jon - No, in Mushroom Jazz 4) The flow of the album is not perfect but it goes in a right and coherent direction (again, not like MJ 5...really disappointed with this one). And of course, the excellent voice collage through the mix makes it marvellous and unique...
Favourite tracks : 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 12, 18 (but difficult to tell you really because the mixing is so good that this mix is like one big track of 72 minutes)
Buy it people, you won't be disappointed! Mushroom Jazz 3 is a perfect interlude between the two masterpieces MJ2 and MJ4...
