Michael Jackson - 25-Jun-09 05:59 PM
Rest in Peace Michael Jackson. He is, and always will be, the King of Pop. His music will stand the test of time and will be studied and reverred by future generations.

From Off The Wall to Thriller to Bad to Dangerous, his musical legacy will be difficult to top. Let's not trivialise his death, but the so-called sloppy, drugged-out tabloid fodder known as "pop stars" today will never, ever come close to touching the legacy of the King of Pop.

Ice-T - Lethal Weapon - 09-Oct-07 04:39 PM
Highly sought after by DJ's and vinyl collectors, this Ice T release is particularly noteworthy due to its inclusion of the "Heartbeat Remix". Originally available on the "Power" album, the song was remixed into a chugging funk anthem, featuring the vocals of none-other than funk outfit "War", perhaps most famous for their "War (What is it good for?)" anthem. The remix remains unavailable on any other Ice-T compilation or album. This release also includes the classic "This Ones For Me", a track whereby Ice T supports Chuck D and rap group Public Enemy during a time they were undergoing harsh media criticism for anti-semetic comments made by group member Professor Griff.

Milli Vanilli - Two x 2 - 03-Jun-07 06:41 PM
The "2X2" album was a combination of the original BMG "All or Nothing" european release and the Arista "US Remix album". Cooltempo packaged both albums together as a double disc set for the U.K. market with "All or Nothing" being the first disc, and the "US Remix album" the second.
Keen collectors would note that the cassette version of this release had artist details printed on a sticker on one cassette and a printed fascia on the other. This is because the sticker covered up the original cassette "All or Nothing" title text.
Due to the packaging of two different albums as one, there are several inconsistencies that are present:
1. Both discs contain identical "NY Subway remixes" of "Girl You Know Its True" where a "true" double album would naturally include alternative versions.
2. "All or Nothing" in its original Euro-pop format is markedly different from its remix version which replaces the sung verses with rap vocals.
3. "Dreams to Remember", despite not being a single, is included twice due to its inclusion on the Arista US release.
4. Despite the second disc including remixes of the hit singles, "Blame it on the Rain" is only included once in the package. This is because the track was penned after the original European release.

Various - Rhythm King - Fusion - 03-May-07 11:01 PM
"Into The Dragon Ident" by Bomb the Bass is the music video to the "Bomb the Bass Megamix" which accompanied the "Say A Little Prayer" CD single (and later on the Australian Universal "Greatest Hits" release). Tim Simenon talks between mix segues - which is fine... except the audio quality on this release is sub-standard.
"Skateboard Action" was later known as "Dune Buggy Attack" on later Bomb the Bass releases.

T'Pau - China In Your Hand 2004 - 30-Dec-06 03:41 PM
Typical of many other remix of 80's retro hits, this remix was a particularly awful "record company cash in" that the band did not condone nor promote. In fact, lead singer Carol Decker implored fans not to purchase this mix via her personal website. The mix did not chart in any territory, nor did it even make any club or DJ charts.
