Contrast, The - Days Go By / What We Do - 10-May-06 09:15 AM
Excellent first production of High Contrast on his own label. The A side is a very jump up track, keeping a good flow and really bouncy bassline. The synths are dreamy and the break has an excellent built up. Heard it for the first time in a Logistics mix and since then it never left my head! "What we do" on the contrary is a nice liquid tune, with nice stop-and-go's.
High Contrast - Racing Green - 10-May-06 04:41 AM
Barret proves he's a genius producer. This track stays so good after two years it's been released. The vocals stay out until the break and leaves one astonished. When the tune drops all the sounds are in perfect equilibrium. I spin this record every set and never got tired from it.
High Contrast - Twilight's Last Gleaming / Made It Last Night - 10-May-06 03:55 AM
Twilight's last gleeming is one of the tracks that made that summer so beautiful. Puts a smile on one's face. Deep bassline and a nice high vocal. When the second break comes in, we get a totally different pattern but the same melody. Very catchy, you'll be singing it all day!
St. Cal - Losing Ground / Henshaw Dub - 10-May-06 03:55 AM
More focussing on Losing ground here: The bassline comes in subtle. That's what's nice about this track.. You can mix it in unnoticed and suddenly let it get harder. The flute sample is amazing! Adding the voice just gives it that little chill-amount. Also a nice variation througout the track. Building up, climax and peace and quiet again! Great work!
