Rose Laurens - American Love - 10-May-08 03:38 AM
One of the ultimate morning music songs at The Saint, along with her Night Sky single. This was spun by Saint legends Michael Fierman, Wayne Scott, Mark Thomas, Susan White and all the others. She may have not had much pop music success but she played The Saint several times and certainly had fans there. Long live morning music and the spirit of The Saint which closed twenty years ago this week.

Nick Straker Band - A Little Bit Of Jazz - 13-Dec-07 01:44 PM
This is my favorite Loft classic. Last time David Mancuso spun it at a party I attended I unexpectedly broke into tears. It sounded so perfect, so euphoric. I was a teenager dancing in my room again, wishing I was in the city at one of the fab clubs that would have been playing this to the hilt. I'd say this was my favorite disco record ever, but it's not a typical disco record in any way. It was far better then anything else Nick Straker put out and the actual flipside of the 12", The Beat Inside, which was also the title of the album from which it was culled, was a Paradise Garage crowd pleaser as spun by the master, Larry Levan.
Gwen Guthrie - Padlock - 05-Mar-07 11:53 AM
This is the definitive Paradise Garage record. The tracks flow into each other with incredible ease. Each one brilliant in itself and even better as a collection. In my opinion this is the peak of Larry Levan's brilliance as a mixer and an impressario. Gwen Guthrie's voice is perfect, never over-stated diva yet always smooth and soulful. Whenever there is a reunion party the hoots and hollers from the crowd are thunderous for any one of these tracks. If I could rate it 5+ I gladly would.
