Brad Heaths "Acid Jive" is new school breaks which uses an original tb303 for the main bassline. Vocal samples lifted from the movie "Airplane." "Funksta" is more old school breaks which uses lots of samples which are edited and blended supremely by Mark Warrior. Was originaly going to called "Old Skool Funksta." Freddy Fresh was so excited about the record he when he first heard it that called head label person Brink on the phone to brag about it. Excellent record to have for breaks fans and is US domestic release!
I don't think 100% that this was released only as promo. Sony/HG released the exact same record with a different cover which has artwork of one of the SS cars that the Fuel team tours with. I have a copy of that one, which has the same Catalog # and everything. Only the cover is different.
The reason i'm not 100% is that a friend (DJ Brink) got me a copy from the head Fuel guy (I forgot his name; has long hair and is a bit insane) and told him that it was "rare". Not sure if that meant it never got released ever or if it was only realeased for a short time or what. | ||||
