I bought this primarily because the full-length Plastikman mix of 'Alphawave' is pretty hard to get hold of on CD. But it turns out the talentless ass-clown of a DJ who's put this compilation together screws up the entire start by mixing it horribly out of time like a total spaz, then goes on to add terrible echoes, pointless flange and other crap-sounding effects all the way through the whole 17 minutes of one of the tightest pieces of techno ever made. Stupid cock. Totally ruined a great compilation of tunes. It's unbearable!

And what's the point of calling it 'Werks Like a Twelve Inch' if none of the tunes actually work like a 12-inch? I figured that was the whole point of this CD...? Pfft.

The track 'Atoms' samples the bassline and keyboard from Pink Floyd's 'Atom Heart Mother', more specifically the 'Funky Dung' segment. It's very cool indeed. :)

Quality deep proggy mix of Pink Floyd's 'Hey You', with plenty of chopped-up Dave Gilmour vocals and a big chunk of the first verse plopped in the middle as a breakdown. Very neat. :)

I was watching The Frighteners the other day (Peter Jackson movie starring Michael J Fox) and it's got the line "Patricia never leaves the house!", as well as the "Let me go, you bastard, let me go!" sample from this track. Which kicks ass, by the way.

This is ace - it gets itself into so many wonderful grooves as it rolls along, but you don't get left listening to any one for more than a few seconds at a time. It just evolves organically, working its way through hundreds of beats and sounds for an hour, all the time staying beautifully listenable.
