Ben Watt - Buzzin' Fly Volume 2 EP - 07-Nov-05 04:39 AM
To me, this is the best Buzzin Fly release. Le Boom really is a nasty track and I mean that in a good way! Nice bleeps and a phanton-like vocal. But the track that blew my head off is Lone Cat. Justin Martin is God when it comes to this track... Ab-so-lu-te-ly fantastic!!! When people ask me for a good deephouse-tip, I always tell em to listen to this track, and they all love it! The instrumental version of Pop a cap in yo ass isn't as good as the original. Estelle's vocals really make it a special, solid track. Too bad it ain't on this release though ;)
Various - Defected In The House - Eivissa '05 (Part Two) - 07-Nov-05 04:29 AM
Actually I found this a quite boring release. Expected a lot from it, especially since it's a 2x12" Tracks sound alike, nothing exciting. The only track that's a true pearl, is DJ Tekin - Wait Forever. Beautiful vocals, real solid track. This track totally makes up for the crap EP. Get it!
X-Press 2 - Muzikizum (Parts One & Two) - 22-Oct-05 10:00 AM
Damn! The first time I heard these tracks, I fell in love with em! Both mixes are good and easy to use to get the dancefloor moving, with its oldschool feel. Check out the similarity with house classic Petra & Co - Just Let Go. Might just be THE inspiration for this track.
FPU - Crockett's Theme (Remixes) - 22-Oct-05 10:00 AM
Sure, it sounds cheesy, but I love it! :D It just gives the original from Harold Faltermeyer that extra spunk. Tiga does a nice remixing-job again and added some vocals. Not a big lover of vocals, but Tiga just gets away with it time, after time, after time..
Charles Schillings & Pompon F. - It's About - 21-Oct-05 03:57 AM
Ah yes, the wonderful "It's about" album! In three words: Won Der Ful !!! ;) Its 12 fingerlickin' good tracks consist of some hiphop-like tracks, deephouse and house: it's all there. For me, "It's about time" is a great track to start a set with. Reeeaaally funky, nice guitar, nice vocals. Also, "Same as it ever was" would do great in a club, not to mention hit "No Communication..." "Tengo Nada" has some nice spanish vocals and a bassline you just can't resist! The only 'dissappointment' about this album is that "No Communication..." has been edited to 4 mins.
