Hahn Rowe - 15-May-06 11:27 PM
Though often working behind the scenes, New York City violinist/guitarist/composer/producer Hahn Rowe's numerous and wide-ranging projects attest to his skills. Originally a violinist with NYC dream-poppers Hugo Largo, Rowe became a valuable session player in the New York scene. As a musician, he has played on Glenn Branca's Symphony No. 5, and songs by J. G. Thirlwell (as Foetus, Steroid Maximus and Wiseblood), Swans, and Moby. Behind the boards, he engineered recordings for Branca, Thirlwell, David Byrne, and REM.
Rowe is an accomplished electronica artist, writing drum'n'bass as Somatic and DJing in numerous New York nightclubs. He also composes electronic music for other media, including film and dance recitals—the latter via long-standing collaborations with choreographer Meg Stuart (e.g. 'Replacement', 2006).

'Highstreet' was named after the club 'Highstreet' in Hoogstraten (Belgium), which is a translation of the Dutch name of the town.
Maxx, The - 22-Jul-05 02:52 PM
'Foolish Mind' was the first project on the new born CIM label (located in Ekeren, Antwerp) to anticipate the New Beat wave in Belgium in the late eighties. The project consisted of 3 members: Dominic Sas (keyboards and sequence programming), Serge Ramaekers (keyboards and rhythm programming and Yves Jongen (vocals). The plan was to fuse new beat with vocals, but due to the negative attitude of the father of the young singer to let his son, Yves Jongen, participate in the project, Serge Ramaekers and Dominic Sas had to abondon their plan and decided to release a maxi with instrumentals. When they were at home of their producer, Luc Cruysweegs, the dog of the neighbours, Max, barked so loud that it caught their attention and found the name of their new project: 'The Maxx'.
