S.A.S. (2) - Aversion - 27-Aug-09 10:49 AM
Three themes on this nice ep by the Belgium based SAS.
"Pilot" is a solid dancefloor piece, which contains all elements to be Robert Hood track. "Septim" starts with pretty nervous sounds, but when the drumkick comes in, a dj track is born.
The "Aversion" track is a fine long trip with the speed of light. Not to be considered as floorfiller however.

No real winners, but just fine material, where each track can be played for its own purpose.

MLO - Sleeper - 07-Sep-08 12:15 PM
The best track here is the original Spike. From start to finish it sounds fast and deep. To emphasize again: this track sounds deep. The layers of sound come and go, sometimes obvious, but the majority comes in sneaky. Hidden sounds are all over, though it costs some effort to discover them. By closing the eyes, the setting could easily be a wargame or an adventure somewhere under the surface.

The remix of Wagon Christ is more refreshing, due to some nice samples and slower approach. The Sleeper track is quality ambient, including nice, almost old-skoolish breakbeats.

Redshape - Plonk - 13-Jul-08 03:28 AM
The track-name "Plonk" is most likely meant as a reference to the label Plink Plonk, as "Plonk" sounds like a deep remix of Ian Pooleys "Next to Nowhere" ep, released on Plink Plonk in 1996.

The haunting bassline of the Dub-version is a real speaker tester, where the Original version is more straight. The short track "8" is a bit useless, however can be used as set intro or -break.

Present 04 follows the high quality of the previous releases and keeps us looking forward to future wax on this great label.

Deepah - Wite Lite / Black Bond - 29-Jun-06 08:44 AM
Deepah created a complicated track with Wite Lite. Moody strings, original drum patterns, 303 bassline and uplifting percussion are the main ingredients. The track as a whole reminds to Dan Curtin productions in his early career.
Black Bond is darker with a pounding bass and fluffy arrangements.

Fred Giannelli - Salacious / Eloquence - 09-Apr-06 06:43 AM
Deep pounding rhythms, ambient synths, complex hi-hats structures and waves of acid are the ingredients of both tracks. Eloquence is monotone and experimental, contrary to Salacious, which is building up, varies in tempo and contains some nice breaks.
Close your eyes and experience Giannellis deep & hypnotic trip !
