Lotus Eaters - Mind Control For Infants - 15-Mar-08 04:49 PM
I don't understand why this record had some bad critics.
Perhaps people thought that Plotkin/Turner/O'Malley will released a new drone/experimental/noise CD. But it's exactly that !
A record full of atmospheres, sometimes near Brian Eno. A record full of works on noise (natural or synthetics), near the contemporary music, or concrete music of Pierre Henry. The long evolution of some tracks make me think of a drone music approach...
I like this record very much, each times I listen to it, I got the feeling to be under water, in the deepest ocean. Listen to it, is like doing Yoga or meditation, you got the sensation to ear your body living, to ear the whole planet living. A great naturalist record !
Pig Destroyer - Prowler In The Yard - 12-Mar-08 05:10 AM
I am a bit disappointed by this record. The LP mastering isn't good as the CD version, it's too bad to release a LP version with a poor mastering. Furthermore the tracks are mixed each other on the CD version, here the cut between Face A and B is missed.
So... I love Pig Destroyer, Prowler In The Yard is surely one of my favorite grindcore album. I bought the LP, because i'm a fan and perhaps a nerd, but for me this release is not very good. If you got the choice, choose the CD version which is better. Relapse needs probably some money...
Mist - Through Tongue And Skin - 08-Oct-06 09:31 PM
One of my favorite on Cosmic with Mist.
4 tracks inspired by human and space, a melting pot of tribal drums and rythm, gravitational bass, voodoo vocals, wired samples, psychotic acoustics...
2 tracks with a 4/4 rythm and 2 with sophisticated beats.
A perfect disc for any type of mix in addition to being a bomb.
Paul Nazca - Ranran EP - 08-Apr-06 11:22 PM
Here it's a beautiful new EP on F...U F-Com, with Paul Nazca.
Laurent Garnier always played Verdure in his sets. A major bass line during all the track amplified by a soft synth melody. A powerful and melancolic track.
The second is not a masterpiece, it's an example of Paul Nazca work on his other EP, like verdure a fat bassline, but the track seems not have the same kind of magic as Verdure.
Great EP on F...U F-Com, surely one of the most with Kobbe & Trish Van Eynde, Vince Watson or Djinxx EP, I hope the label will follow in this direction.
BUY IT !
