Various - Goes Noord vs The Rest Of The World II - 30-Jun-08 09:02 AM
So, here it is - the long-awaited Goes Noord vs The Rest Of The World II.
Once again we have two international featurings, who all are located on the darker side of Earth. For a difference on this release, The Outside Agency also collaborated with two Dutch top-producers.
Waste Of Humanity is a hard, rough, and fast track. It's pounding sounds, and screaming synth gives you an immediately feeling of stomping in the ground. Awesome production from TOA & Ruffneck!
Clockwork Paralysis is definitely a well-produced industrial track with a touch of dark norwegian atmospheres. As some of you may have recognized, Clockwork Paralysis is heavily influenced by Walter Carlos' movie-theme music, from the futuristic Kubrick classic, A Clockwork Orange. It's been a while, since we last heard from PetroChemical, but it was certainly worth the waiting time!
Scattered contains hard kicks, gritty sounds, respectively fast, hard and dark industrial hardcore - exactly what you can expect from an operation with Ophidian. Great stuff!
Manhunt II is probably the darkest track on the vinyl. The spooky effects, and the creepy atmosphere gives you goose bumps. But even if a goose bump reflex occur on you, it doesn't change the fact, that Manhunt II is the most boring track on the release. The buildup isn't the best, and the kicks are pretty 'weak' - still a nice track from TOA & Fracture 4 though.
Even though it's absurd, I will still compare this second installment of Goes Noord vs The Rest of the World to the first installment from 2003. This one is far more completed and perfected than the first. Each track on this vinyl have their own unique sound, so there will probably be something on this release, that fits your taste.
So, what can I say? Another must have for every Genosha fan!
Hamunaptra - Rise - 25-Jan-08 09:59 AM
I'll like to allocate this debut album by Hamunaptra a flattering rating of 5/5.
Rienk Bauritius is developing his own intergalactic art of music, on this unique album.
Each track has its own dimensional and atmospheric sound, but they all still have a emancipation of that typical Hamunaptra flavour.
You'll also find 4 awesome collaborations, that is produced together with masters such as; Mindustries, Nosferatu, Ruffneck and Ophidian.
Besides the gold inside this album, it also comes in a beautiful sleeve and the tracks are pressed on a special white vinyl.
The dexterity of pure, dark roughness is top quality on this album!
It won't be acceptable to have any sign of irresolution... you MUST purchase this masterpiece!
PetroChemical - Distorted Minds - 31-Dec-07 08:14 AM
This is the second release by PetroChemical, and the twelfth release on Genosha Recordings.
These Norwegian producers are definitely moving more and more forward in the hardcore scene
Like their last release, this release contains four evil, aggressive, unique masterpieces of tracks. Both sides has very dark, heavy industrial sounds and atmospheres. You'll be fascinated with this curiosity of style.
Another must have from PetroChemical!

Fracture 4 - Ten Inches Of What? - 15-Nov-07 12:06 PM
The first 10" release on Genosha Recordings.
Frank (Eye-D) produced the A-side together with the scottish Stephen Cairns (Fracture 4), and it has a fantastic brutal distorted kick, that will shock your ears, accurately as you dream of.
Noël (DJ Hidden) did a great job on the B-side. The track is actually an older track, but it's so evil, and has the cruelest vocals, which fits perfectly in the dark masterpiece of tune.
There's no words for this... a must have for all TOA fanatics!
Ophidian as Raziel* - To Sing Of Desecration - 14-Nov-07 01:21 PM
A experimental masterpiece of album, produced by our beloved Conrad Hoyer.
As Raziel, Conrad brings us 8 hammering tracks together with 8 dark intros, that fits perfectly to each track, while the sound continuous.
Two tracks on this album are mixed by members of the Meta4 crew.
Serum (Dirk Troost) delivers an awesome up-tempo breakbeat version of "To Destroy What Is Broken". On the C-side, Tapage (Tijs Ham) creates a unique scratchy off-beat version of "To Punish The Weak".
If you love the dark, noisy, industrial sounds - this album will definitely be pure gold for you.
