Slater Hogan & John Larner - Deal With The Duvel - 03-Oct-07 02:53 AM
'What's wrong with me?' is an slice of absolutely filthy acid-house. The few times I've played it out; it really has gone off!! Play mid-set to late on to achieve a fantastic reaction from the crowd and without doubt, this will be the track everybody will remember the night for...
Also, chi-towner deserves a mention - it's a low slung funky groove sure to get things off to a good start early on. Nice horns and deep keys.
Superb record - 5/5
Various - Disco Heaven 01.04 - 02-Jun-04 06:34 AM
If you think vocal music is boring - dont purchase this CD. It'll kill you. Indeed - a lot of the production is top notch, notably the vibes on Jersey St. - Love Will Be Our Guide. Hed Kandi have drafted back Inaya Day for a couple of tracks, one with collaboration with ATFC - shes a stunning vocalist with a powerful voice - a welcome return.
Soldiers Of Twilight - Believe - 12-May-04 09:57 AM
Absolutely my favourite tune ever - people say that all the time but I really cannot write a review that fully shows how much I love this tune. It's the best song ever made.
The lyrics are great, they seem to apply to most situations of trouble you face in life and if music affects you by power of lyric then this track could help you out. The production is silky smooth, beautiful warm vibe with a percussive feel to it. Absolutely top quality!
Aphex Twin - Drukqs - 12-May-04 06:41 AM
I bought this album an hour before I have posted here. I have to say, that all ready it has grown on me. It seems like one of those albums that gets better with age. People often talk about it being ahead/behind its time - to me, the album is both. It just seems to draw ancient classical music together with seering modern drum and bass.
The collaboration of classical, mellow pieces, haunting sound effects and powerful drum and bass makes this album a work of art. This is like absolutely nothing I've ever heard before. It is also very interesting, regarding the whole double CD thing - instead of arranging similar genres on separate CDs, Richard has thrown tracks together from genres undefinable. Its an album that Im really into already - Brilliant!
Adam F - Colours - 28-Apr-04 02:39 AM
Easily the best individual album I have in my collection. It's a varied album - lots of different material to get to grips with. The whole album just flows together. Drum and bass, abstract and chillout fused together provides me with a lot of inspiration for my own album. If you like abstract and drum and bass - then do yourself a favour and buy this CD!
