Reviews & Discussion:
In my opinion this is one of the best Emmanuel Top releases.
Static and Fusion are very similar tracks, the way they are composed are almost the same. Both tracks are top-class, these are exciting progressive trance tracks full of ups and downs, and also great trancy breacks. This is one of the most tranciest work by Emmanuel Top. One of the first truly great Progressive trance records.
This record displays how trance was the true link between house and techno in those days. This is the perfect record to take your sets from light to dark sounds. It has a fantastic dark and long build-up. There is a female voice that alway repeat the folowing text : "you make me feel so qualitive" (this sample was used very often back in those years) You got to have this vinyl for "Saturn 5".
Back in 1994 this was a great House- Trance record. A nice build up from the ground up, there is a male voice that says : "The World Waits" And after that the rolling melody starts for the rest of the record, it has some nice strings added. A must have if you love mid 90's trance ! 'Point Zero' is simply outstanding trance. A very nice build up to the break. Produces a fantastic feeling, and when the take off finds it's place you'll probably feel like flying. Flip it over and you'll find another track, but it's not as special as Point Zero. Especially 'Point Zero' is the reason to buy this vinyl, perfect trance with a hell of a break.
If you can find a copy, just buy it ! 5/5 Well what can be said about such a genious piece of vinyl without using too much superlatives? Without doubt this is "in my opinion" one of the super hits of the year 1999. Those "deep-sounds" really drive you crazy on the floor. they don't appear once, no they're coming again and again in the break, and the bassdrum kicks in when you don't expect it. I also love the break by the end of the track. Genious piece of work by Phillipe Van Mullem !
He's a great producer, i love all his work ! Quite possibly one of the best songs/records i have ever heard and am glad to own!
The main feature of the song itself is the melody and numerous layers of percussion, you get a wicked mix in the original. the beats just sync into the melody so well that it makes you instantly smile and the melody is also slightly altered with short rolls on the notes to add a nice effect. This one is listed as Techno but i think it is more a solid Tech-house release. All two tracks have character. Recommended!
I remember when I first heard "Helix" on a Rave party. Its mysterious baseline & hi-hats caught me right away. It is indeed a beautiful Tech-house release. It sounds "mid 90s" but can easily still be played today. A very smooth production by Steve Rachmad. | ||||
Philippe Van Mullem is a great producer, and this release must be one of his best !
