BT - Never Gonna Come Back Down - 08-Dec-04 06:30 PM
I bought this to have the brilliant Hybrid Breaktek Mix on CD. However the very first beat is chopped off so the track starts on the second beat (the snare drum), which is just stupid. It must be some kind of error when this disc was created. Luckily on vinyl there isn't this problem!
The Hybrid Breaktek Mix is the one I consider the original as this is the first version I heard and after hearing the Original it just confired for me how great Hybrid are at remixing. The breakdown with the piano and chello is just hair-raising and must be an original additonal production by Hybrid as this is the only place I've heard it. Also they've made better use the vocal and they deserve all credit, it's simply stunning.
The Timo Maas Mix is pretty good but he could do better. Not one of Mr. Maas' best remixes! But a good adition to the CD.
The Radio Edit is way too 'Pop' for me! But as pop its a good one. It has a very likable edge.
This would be a worthy buy if it wern't for that problem on track 3.
Shapeshifters - Lola's Theme - 05-Apr-04 10:46 AM
This is without doubt the tune of miami 2004, the track that was on everyone's lips, the one that had the dance floors throbbing from morning right the way through to the deepest black of night. With an awesome uplifting vocal, a gradual building string and horn section that explodes away from the decks on the breakdown. Absolutely awesome house music. Not bad for your label's first release is it?...
George Michael - Freeek! - 02-Aug-03 09:23 AM
Wicked remixes of a pretty cool tune.
There is a mistake on the record cover and on the labels on the first 12; The Scumfrog's Mix is on the A side and The Slyness Mix is on the B side.
The Scumfrog's Mix is the Best!
Dr. Kucho! & Gregor Salto - Mr Martini / The Beginning - 27-Jul-03 04:07 PM
Two wicked percussion crazy house tracks, both sampling dialogue from films. The first, Mr. Martini, samples Louise Fletcher in One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest and The Beginning samples Alan Rickman in Die Hard. Both tracks are to my taste and Im glad I bought this record.
Simon - Free At Last - 21-Apr-03 05:24 PM
If track B1 and C1's times are correct then both mixes are edited. Look for Free At Last on Vendetta for more details.
Anyway great music just want all unedited versions though!
