“Next after theology I give to music the highest place and the greatest honor.” - Martin Luther

“The Christian is the really free man - he is free to have imagination. This too is our heritage. The Christian is the one whose imagination should fly beyond the stars.” - Francis A. Schaeffer, Art & the Bible

My tastes started with synthpop and branched out to most genres of electronic music. I collect electronic music recorded by Christian artists, and have been a discographer of several bands for about 10 years.

I also manage my wife's music collection here under the name Mrs.JT_X.

Ratings are based on this scale:
5 = essential listening
4 = good stuff
3 = I could take it or leave it
2 = I keep it for the sake of completeness
1 = if my house were on fire, and I'd rescued the other stuff, I'd be tossing this back into the flames

Discogs at one time allowed titles to be entered in correct English-style caps. The following rule was deleted from the guidelines, without discussion, and submitters are no longer allowed to enter titles correctly. Despite the repeated protestations of nay-sayers, allowing us to enter titles correctly did not cause the database to implode.

Capitalization

On Artist names, Label names, Release titles, and Track titles, all words must be capitalized except articles (capitalization is optional on a, and, the, etc, unless it is the first word). Capitalization of artist name particles (i.e. van, von, di, de, la, etc.) is not required.

Reviews:

Pet Shop Boys - West End - Sunglasses - 03-Oct-05 09:20 PM
"West End - Sunglasses" is an odd mash-up, 1984-style. ZYX combined "West End Girls" with an anonymous cover of Corey Hart's "Sunglasses at Night". One would assume this version of "Sunglasses" was performed specifically for this medley. The singer has a German accent, but no other details are available. The sleeve, with the drawn-on sunglasses, is priceless...

N*Soul - 21-Feb-05 06:47 AM
The "Remastered studio burned CDRs" that N*Soul offers for sale on their web site are essentially bootlegs, and the artists are not compensated. Artists have complained about this and other business practices, and the label has completely lost the legitimacy they had in their golden years of the mid-'90s.

Various - π - Music For The Motion Picture - 28-Jan-05 01:18 AM
Clint Mansell makes a cameo appearance in the film as a photographer that Max, the protagonist, chases down.

Pet Shop Boys - Suburbia (Special Arthur Baker Remix) - 25-Jul-04 02:05 AM
Much more raw sounding than the Julian Mendelsohn extended mix, and therefore a bit closer to the original album cut. These mixes are marred by one glaring problem: the vocals are generally not in synch with the instrumental! Very disappointing for Mr. Baker.

Virus (10) - Analogue - 13-Jul-04 01:05 AM
Copies of Virus's "Analogue" CD bought from the N*Soul store are illegal pirated CD-Rs, which do not benefit the artists. To get these tracks, go to Virus's web site or buy a used copy.
