Reviews & Discussion:

2005 release by Solvent including remixes of Solvent songs and a few originals. Among the originals, opening track "Wish" and track 8, "Devices And Strategies" really stand out as shimmering synth pop songs and are worth the price of admission alone. Some of the other originals are less developed, but still offer vibrant analogue themes. The Mitgang Audio remix of "My Radio" and Lowfish's version of "For You" rank at the top of the remixed tracks on this release.
Droids - Star Peace Feb 21, 2008
French synth-disco from the late 1970s. Most of the tracks on Star Peace sound like a more dancefloor ready version of Kraftwerk with tight 4/4 beats (though acoustic and not voltage-controlled) and juicy analogue sounds. Other tracks on the album such as "Interspace," "Tchoung Fou" and "Renaissance De L'Amour" reminisce the works of Klaus Schulze and other early analogue experimenters. A definite classic and a must-own for lovers of cosmic sounds.
Flashes of brilliance in too few songs, most-notably the opening track, "Nobody's Diary." While other songs may contain good structure or well-crafted sounds, none have its consistency and combination of these elements. Success seems to have gone to Moyet's head, who perhaps more boldly lent herself songwriting duties. Too many tracks lent me to this suspicion, and upon researching discovered that she wrote on 7/11 tracks on You And Me Both versus 5/11 on the duo's previous offering. Clarke seems unable to adapt to Moyet's style with inspiration leading to the demise of many tracks and ultimately the band itself.
