Reviews & Discussion:

This is a phenomenally crafted nuskool breaks remix of Strange Love by Depeche Mode track! (There is another release of the same track but it is pressed on both sides of the record- this one is single-sided...) Catalog#: BPMW002
I had guessed this to be the work of Burufunk (since Starfire is not credited on this release of the vinyl), it definitely matches his style- deep & dark, dirty, acidy basslines with subtle, contrasting- slightly trancey- melodic & harmonic counterparts.
I'm very happy to find that Starfire is also putting out such quality remix work!
Excellent use of the original vocal samples.
Outstanding rhythms, percussion, synth work & use of harmony & melody.
Superb structural flow throughout... Easy to mix with many songs, in the same key or style- or not!
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
Mara - Desanitize Sep 30, 2007
Of my thousands of records, this one shines through as one of the best- it never leaves my record box! The production & mastering are superb- it always sounds good on any system in any room! It mixes effortlessly in and out of other tunes taking the floor by storm0- captivating it throughout.
Personally, I nearly always play the breaks side which is unique, dark, acidy, full of energy- yet balanced by the emotional intense vocal & upper synths.
I have many other records in the same key that mix georgeously with this record, either in contrast or compliment to it.

OUTSTANDING!
DJ Icey - Frequent Yet Vague May 20, 2007 (edited over 2 years ago)
"Frequent Yet Vague" has got to be one of Icey's best tracks. It has a superb, deep, classic, acidy bassline that rocks virtually any dancefloor. Very clever synth, melodic & rhythmic development and variation of the main theme. GREAT TUNE!
Unknown Artist - Bang / Way Back May 16, 2007 (edited over 2 years ago)
The online record store where I bought this track gave credit to DJ Icey; however, there is nothing written on the record or sleeve to support that. Although it is quite common for DJ Icey not to take credit for or concisely label his work.
This record really does sound like Icey's work to me though whether it is or not. It certainly could be.
Great record, on both sides!
Sade - Slave Song (Remix) May 10, 2007 (edited over 2 years ago)
Great record! Fairly rare apparently...
I wish I knew who made it. He/they feature excellent production paired with a lovely vocal track- deeply emotional with lush harmonies.
Great percussion & bass line- stark, fairly minimal and stripped down. Very steady energy beginning to end, no buildups or breakdowns.
I've had this record for 5-6 years never having any idea what it was- until now.
Whenever I play it people ask what/who it is. No one has been able to positively identify the vocalist or the song.
I had given up on identifying it- I love discogs!
Uplifting fusion of orchestral, sampled ethnic percussion and outstanding multi-layered vocals by Miriam Stockley. She has a vast stylistic range from ethnic/tribal through folk/celtic to classical/operatic & almost 'pop'.
Great source for samples. (i.e. "Seven Cities" (Atlantis Mix) Solar Stone taken from track 2)
