Winstons, The - 21-Feb-03 07:07 AM
The Winstons are not an electronic band at all, but in a way they are one of the most important bands for electronic music.

The Winstons' track "Amen, Brother" has a drum solo half way trough that nowadays is best known as the "Amen Break".

The Amen Break is used all the time in Jungle, Drum & Bass and Breakcore as well as in allmost all other forms of electronic music.

So, Amen to The Winstons for giving us the best break of all time! :-)

Jeff Mills - Metropolis - 13-Aug-02 08:00 AM
Actually, you have missed your chance to see Metropolis with the Jeff Mills soundtrack. It has been a worldwide tour in small venues where Jeff Mills himself plays the music while everybody can watch the film... I missed it when it was in De Melkweg in Amsterdam and I guess I will never get that chance again!

BS 2000 - Simply Mortified - 18-Jul-02 08:25 AM
This is one of those releases wich would never had seen daylight if it wasn't for Grand Royal... to bad Grand Royal is dead now and I guess BS2000 has gone under with it...

BS2000 toured Europe in the summer of 2001 and I was so fortunate to catch them live. To bad almost nobody showed up at the concert and even worse that there probably never will be any BS2000 concerts ever again.

Speed Freak, The Featuring Wendy Milan - Live In Japan - 16-Jul-02 02:33 AM
This record is great. Escpecially Osaka Bombing has everything I love. You can defenitly hear the typical Shockwave sound on this record and all the tracks are constantly changing so they never get boring! Great record!

Disciples Of Annihilation - New York City Speedcore - 16-Jul-02 02:31 AM
This album is a classic for people who love harsh gabber and speedcore. If you want to know what speedcore sounds like in NYC then get this album. The sound of DOA is very specific and mostly based on Temper Tantrum's "Extreme Terror" a track form around 1994 and greatly influenced by other NYC hardcore artist like Lenny Dee, Rob Gee etc.

It's just one hard album!
