Transient - Works / Play EP - 10-Aug-06 03:19 AM
This release is really nerdy! The E.P. consits of two parts, beginning with the track "Direct" the "Work E.P." of this minialbum starts, with tracks only being produced on a Palm Handheld. I got this E.P. via a podcast and so I did not read the information which is supplied on the Monotonik labelpage, where you can download these great IDM tunes for free. Having not visited the page, I wondered what type of equipment you need to produce such great pieces of electronic music. I would have never believed that anything like this could be made with a Handheld. By the way, the software which Transient uses is named Bahjis Loops, a really great piece of software. However, it is not only the software it is also Transients skill who, I suppose, gets most out of this programm. This E.P. really is a timeless piece of art - music on a higher level!
Snitzer & McCoy - We Will Rock You - 22-Jun-06 11:24 AM
This Record is a fake. It was never produced in USA, Turn Table Box is a reference to a german studio. Snitzer and McCoy was a project, created by well known german techno artists, which have agreed with Superstition recrods to keep silent. The intention beyound the Snitzer and McCoy project was to create an USA like artist, because market analysis showed, that american techno artist gain high chart positions or at least sale good. Jeff Mills was very popular at that time in germany. Unfortunately, Superstition had no american artist in their reportoire, so Snitzer and McCoy was created. The representatives of this studio project were a 5-head breakdance combo. There were also lot of merchandise articles in backstock, but the hype could not launch to internal difficulties and misunderstandings.
Wonder Band, The - Stairway To Love - 16-Feb-06 12:46 PM
The A-Side is a Disco-Medley of the famous Songs "Stairway To Heaven" and "Whole Lotta Love". This record is truly a masterpice in arrangement, strings and brass sections are always right in place and the vocals are perfect. If you are into disco coverversions of famous rock songs, grab thisone!
Santos - R U Shakadelic? - 13-Feb-06 06:21 PM
The Mix of "Gimme Da Mike" is just pitched up version of the version which was released on the B-Side of the White Label "I'm Not Homesick". If you want to hear it in the original tempo, pitch it -8%.
Lomov - 08-Jan-06 04:01 AM
Lomov is definitly one of those netlabel artists, who produce music of such an outstanding quality, that you ask yourself, why have they never released anything physical. He is the one who led me into ambient music and beyound. I would never have bought an album of Tangerine Dream or Brian Eno, if I never have had the chance to listen to his music. And I wouldn't have listened to his music, if it wouldn't have been available for free. But sure, if this guy is going to release something physical, I will buy it! Grab all his MP3/Ogg Files from the web, if you are into good ambient music. He set mark in ambient netlabel scene. Especially the Albums "Jazzant" and "Unterflurhydrand" are so exceptional good, that you cannot believe that this man is doing music only as a hobby. In fact, he is a studied philosoph, and it seems that he expresses his philosophy through music. Hey, are you still reading this? Haven't I said you should download his music!
