Reviews & Discussion:

Résonance (9) - O.K. Chicago / Yellow Train Sep 26, 2005 (edited over 4 years ago)
‘Yellow Train’ is an incredibly mental track. One of those that makes you wonder what the hell they were doing back then to come up with something as far out. Horns, whistles, mad percussion and what sounds like the screeching of brakes make the track sound more like an out of control steam train than a Disco record.
Moodymann - Amerika Dec 22, 2004 (edited over 4 years ago)
Moodymann takes Gil Scott-Heron's poetry, a loop from Idris Muhammed's "Turn This Mutha Out" and adds his own touch of magic to create a masterful piece of slow-burning House.
Thank God for the re-release of this soundtrack. Given a good pressing on heavyweight vinyl too. Its astonishing to think this music was recorded thirty years ago.

Its easy to see how artists like John Carpenter would have influenced early Techno and Electro pioneers with music as futuristic sounding as 'Assault On Precinct 13', released in the mid-seventies.
