Loop Control - Exceptionally Beautiful / Reflections - 19-May-08 01:49 PM
The definition of what trance really stands for; Exceptionally Beautiful / Reflections are two beautiful trance gems that I will never forget. This release was the highlight of 1999 for me.
Yuzo Koshiro - Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune 2 Original Soundtrack - 25-Sep-07 08:27 PM
If you're looking for a wonder energetic trance/house Soundtrack, this is it for you! Koshiro (also known to compose the Shenmue soundtrack)really delivers with this amazing soundtrack full of quality tracks. The soundtrack never loses the energy on both CDS. The first track really defines what trance is. It starts off with a kind of aimless hum of synthesizers and a very faint harmonic loop in the background. The melody starts a few seconds in with a simple bassline, and then the four-on-the-floor beat begins, entering the main body of the song. The music progresses as a normal trance track does, with two different styles of melody weaving in and out of each other and a short, beatless interlude somewhere in the middle. At this point, it would be natural for me to write about my initial reactions after hearing the first track, but this is where the first (and only, really) issue arises. "This Is My Destiny" and "Nothing Can Live Forever" are the one's you should really be looking after, amazing vocal mixes with a strong uplifting beat, most of the melody by both are carried out by the vocals.
