Shed - Shedding The Past - 01-Sep-08 03:42 AM
'Shedding The Past' is the soundtrack of the past, the present and the future - it is simply timeless with it's interesting sound arrangement, composition and live, direct feel. The energy from both the Berghain and Ostgut Tonträger is present in every track.

If you are looking for a good release of uncompromising, truthful and innovative music you have a real something here. Shed has a unique sound, that is really inspirational and simply breath-taking.

One of the best albums of 2008!

Marcel Dettmann - MDR 02 - 09-Nov-07 07:37 AM
Marcel Dettmann is like Monolake on acid. Together with half of Monolake (Torsten Pröfrock aka. T++), they make something really special.

Dettmann's hard and cut off sound with really lash sounds and snares, together with T++'s unparalleled Basic Channel-like minimalism makes this release one of the most interesting from 2006.

While keeping Dettmann's bassline together with his snares, T++ adds his trademark sounds and creates something that is purely sound architectual, teared up reversed fills with lots of funk makes the progression of the track so natural.

The best of both worlds is in this 12" people!

Henrik B - Airwalk - 02-Aug-07 09:36 AM
I actually prefer Airwalk, because of it's movie-soundtrack-based sound and harmonic and calm, yet very powerful progression.

I can see that DJs and dancers might prefer Overrun, but if Airwalk is used correctly, it blows all competition.

Pryda - Remember / Frankfurt - 15-Feb-07 02:07 AM
This 12" sums up my entire 2006. First off with Remember, Eric uses a small part (a 1,2 second loop) from the track Judgements and rebuilds the sample only doable from a genius such as Prydz. It's built the same way as his edit of It's The Underground by Brett Johnson, but instead of a synth + drum loop it's a vocal loop instead. Excellence and avant-gardism in it's purest form.

The Frankfurt is Eric's personal favourite of 2006 along with his own remix of 1983 by Paolo Mojo. I cannot disagree. Frankfurt is a track that has all the groove and feeling from a good 80's track, but the bad stuff isn't there (such as the electric guitars etc). The first time I heard it was in his set from Café Mambo in Ibiza, where he toar the place down and Pete Tong fainted of euphoria.
