I have to rivise my opinion of the previous review and admit that this record is very enjoyable. I must have been consumed with the disappointment of not getting the original tracks when i first found the LP. Meanwhile i sold my previous copy and while selling it i was listening to the LP again and found it a joyful experience. So now i got it again and not planning on selling anytime soon. Probably this LP was inspired by the success of the Streetwave Electro series from the UK at the time. This seems to be confirmed by the similar sleeve design and track selection.
Netzwerk Frankfurt - Hot Body - 06-May-09 06:15 AM
Anthony Rother & Berkan Gülen released this track in 2001 and it still sounds fresh today. Some heavy dark electro sounds come pumping from the grooves of this one. This track will fit in any electro set and will keep the bodies on the dancefloor hot. Although apparently Berkan and Anthony have gone their separate ways now and Netzwerk Frankfurt seems to be a one time only gig, this collaboration still stands as a monument of german electro!
Explorer (2) - Untitled - 18-Jan-09 01:06 AM
Great LP . Only too bad people dont take any quality standard into account when ripping stuff like this. I couldnt beilieve how awfull this sounded when i heard it in the shop. We where all there like where are the hi-hats?. No dynamics at all. It truely sounds like someone took their i-pod with a crappy mp3 rip into the cutting room and just took it from there. Time for a proper reissue id say!
Dogs Of War - Dogs Of War - 18-Aug-08 02:54 AM
This is a great record and praise for a re-release of such a record. But upon listening it became sadly clear that the sound quality is mediocre at best. Spaciula is completely unplayable due to some terrible distortion. I cant understand why anyone would accept such a sound to be delivered from a mastering professional. It may be the source material that has been used or a lousy mastering and cutting job. Whatever the reason they might as well have left the first track off entirely. Im afraid ill have to go out and look for an original to be able to fully enjoy the album as it was once meant.
Various - Non-Stop Disco - 08-Apr-08 11:34 AM
In all its kitschy corniness, this record is pure genius. I dont know who Patsy or his friends are, but they must have had a good time back in the days. This record just radiates fun. The bad speed modulations (presumably from the DJs turntables) only add to the authentic feeling. Theres some seriously funky tunes on this one, some of which have luckily been repressed so people can enjoy them once again. My cover has some water damage, if someone has a spare, im interested to buy or trade.
