One of the better mixtapes by Eminem's DJ Green Lantern on Shady Records. Overall this gives you a good impression of Shady/Aftermath/Interscope-related artists and beats in 2005. This mixtape mostly uses verses of existing tracks on released albums over better or lesser known beats. The Intro starts with the 'Till I Collapse' beat which is a good opening banger and fades in a couple of other banging beats (Back Down, Still Tippin, The Next Episode). The artists the mixtape introduce themselves over the beats, getting you in the mood. The Game then opens the mixtape officialy with his verse of 'Westside Story' over a banging beat. Furthermore most beats have a good bounce in them, like Ashes (over 'Start From Scratch' beat), Coast 2 Coast and Good vs. Evil (over 'Jesus Walks'). It is surprising how many weak tracks there are on this mixtape, but 'I'm Black' by Styles P has a very weak beat and too lame lyrics. The remix of 'Do It Like Me' is just a slown down version and is totally unnecessary. Bump J's freestyle is a little out of line as it is quite oldschool, but 38 Special & Akon's finishing tracks make this a topnotch mixtape.
