Orb* - Orblivion Sep 29, 2003
Let me disagree. The first half of the album is indeed a bit different from the second. But if one names tracks from the second half "the lamest"...then I start doubting if that person does really understand The Orb, hear and feel the music.
What you can hear after the Toxygen till the end of the album is something magic for me. Those tracks are the reason why I put this album into my player again and again.
First half simply doesn't have that much artistic value. Really good things usually stay unnoticed by the majority ;)
I can repeat just the same. This album in my opinion is the best of all what FB have released. Very dense, very colourful, very beautiful. When I got this album, I couldn't listen to anything else but just this album for maybe three months. This is how good it is.
Joey Beltram - Aonox Sep 28, 2003
Almost ten years have passed since the release of this masterpiece but when I listen to it I don't find myself at the other end of the decade. This music that doesn't get old. This music keeps its strength as the amber imprisons a little bug in it. Why? Listen to it and find the answer yourself. And while you do that, I will keep drowning in that dark empty space gently sketched with a few lines of stars, lighting a little bit of anger, little bit of disappointment or, most likely, little bit of nothingness...
I'd name it as the most serious work of The Orb. This album was one of a few that pushed me into the world of electronics. And it completely doesn't matter that more than five years have already passed - it doesn't loose its strength. Because it simply can't. Up till today I find and find new and new things in that music each time I listen.
And that's just a one side. The most easily seen one. There is also another side of the coin...And that is what astonished me completely. But that is a secret surprise for the ones that were born to hear... A MUST for those who can't live without MUSIC.
