Various - Beatz - 05-Oct-08 06:20 AM
This is a rare CD! I have never seen another one or heard of anyone who also had a copy. From what I understand when I bought this CD back in my High School days; not many copies were released as it came from a small recording studio through a friend in the local county. I was also told it was not a mass production CD like you would expect from the likes of EMI or Virgin for example, and the content was promotional material. However, i am unable to find any "Promo" mark on this release.

One of the tracks on here I particularly like because it uses an Accordion over the Drum & Bass / Jungley loops, and I used to play one when i was younger. It's a very pleasant sound which is not often used, but suits a variety of dance music should producers feel brave enough to try!

Amen - Feel The Passion - 06-Jul-08 11:50 AM
Guinness World Records' British Hit Singles & Albums [2004] has the release under artist name "Amen UK" (without the exclaimation mark) only, which implies that their alias Amen did not chart in the UK. Since it was a promo this could be the reason.

Guinness World Records' British Hit Singles & Albums [2004] ISBN number: 0-85112-199-3

Hard To Find Records, Birmingham (HTFR dot com) had this release listed as young as 1997! It took a while before someone on Discogs was able to remember when they bought it new, but i do believe we now have all the correct information here.

The vocal sample used:
"Can You Feel The Passion? Running Through Your Veins; Driving You Insane - Rushing Through Your Brain" (or something similar).

It is used best on: Amen UK "Passion" (Triple J Mix (AKA JJJ Mix)) (Discogs release/375770) because they have the samples running closely together. Here on this release they are much further apart and it leaves the track sounding disjointed.

Ms. Dynamite - A Little Deeper - 15-Apr-08 02:59 PM
The last track "A Little Deeper" is 10.25 minutes long. The song you hear at the start of the track finshes at 4.31, and then just over two minutes of silence. The secret track (untitled, uncredited even) starts at 6.33 and is considerably better than the first part of the track. It features some additional male vocals/lyrics. "Get Up, Stand Up" are the first two lines of the chorus. Not my favourite type of music, but this album does have a couple of good laid back tunes to chill to.

Jesus Jones - Zeroes And Ones - 12-Apr-08 07:26 PM
Coming from someone who owns this release in both CD and Vinyl format; I much prefer the latter. The CD I found hard to get into (even The Prodigy Versus Jesus Jones Mix), which personally was the reason for buying it. However, listening to the vinyl release; after adding a little extra treble it produces a much warmer, more pleasant sound (firstly from the bass and secondly from the analogue technology - it's old yeah, but tried and tested technology!!). I even got into the Central Nervous System Mix, which took me back to my childhood musical roots: INDIE! This Prodigy remix grows on me the more I listen to it, but it is certainly not the strongest of Liam’s work.

I have heard Liam didn’t think much of his remix for The Time Frequency on their release "EP". "Retribution 93" (The Prodigy Meets TTF) was the mix he apparently disliked, but personally I rate it higher than this release because I love the faster pounding techno and hardcore breaks!

The Prodigy / Liam Howlett has astonishing rhythm and production skills that are hard, near impossible to rival. The rest of the gang help give the group an image and wicked live vibe! You simply can’t beat it!

Exit EEE - Epidemic - 23-Mar-08 04:52 PM
The "No Respect Mix" on the A-Side reminds me a lot of the track "Nightmare" by Brainbug. It uses a cello sample very similar to "Nightmare", and it is used throughout the tune.

It has a nice breakdown/nain break focusung on Breakbeat, and also has a catchy female vocal wailing "whoo-ooo-ou-oa!!" on the verses. Overall it is an energetic little Hard House number, and for a DJ it would be ideal inbetween two corking tunes as a little pick-me-up before the next banger!!
